sumitra' s reasons for hating ganga.

And It is not her being compared to anandi.

1. Ganga is poor.

2. Ganga's husband still alive and may pose problems to Jagya as he is a rowdy.

3. Ganga's becoming closer to Jagya inspite of sumitra's disapproval.

4. Jagya always supporting Ganga.

5. In sumitra's eyes, ganga never truly tried to distance Jagya and rather encouraged him.

6. Ganga's coming back to Jaitsar and also into Jagya's life inspite of her warnings. Ganga's tacit defiance. Hiding behind Jagya to get what she wanted.

Here sanchi does not matter. Sanchi is used to keep ganga at a distance only. Though sumitra is traumatised for sanchi being given the kick by Jagya.

Sumitra liking sanchi.

1. Sanchi glittered like a fake diamond

2. Sumitra's unwillingness to see anything negative about sanchi is matched by her unwillingness to see anything positive in ganga.

3. Sanchi's family.

sumitra needs to understand that all that glitters isn't gold.

The foremost reason she started hating on Ganga was, she formed an assumption in her mind that Ganga had laid a jaal for her suputra, and dood peeta doctor would walk into it. it was blatantly supported by sanchi mahaan.

I am trying to understand sumitra and inspite of her over the top behaviour she has her own reasons right or wrong to form opinions about ganga.

The first reason for sumitra is not that important as she, gehna, anandi are also from poor families.

The other reasons for her mattered more.

In simple words Sumitra loves Sanchis' fake love/ infatuation forever and never like the real love of Ganga ! Yes... after witnessing Ratansinghs' violence ...she lost her common sense for ever !!--jokes apart ... I feel ...she wanted to elevate her social status with Shekhars rista...so that Jagya will regain some lost glory in their village

But are not some of sumitra's reasons valid from her point of view?

Ganga's love maybe pure. But the way she entered Jagya's life is not every mother of a boy will accept.

Her misunderstanding of the situation in which Jagya married Ganga ...---here she felt cheated by Ganga and without her consent ... Ganga grabbed Jagya from her and Sanchi ! I think Gangas' lower strata in the society and her dependency made her vulnerable to the abusive treatment of Sumitra !

sumitra meted out the same treatment even to Gauri who was an independent woman and comparatively had a better strata. The problem is the same. Jagya is being grabbed as you rightly put it.

The problem is in two parts.

1- She doesn't understand Jagya and doesn't know what's right for her own son. If she did, she would be able to see that there is some compatibility between JaGan whereas there's zero compatibility between Jagya and Choti Pyari Bachi. They are totally incompatible...

2- She is under the misconception that Ganga is a clever, manipulative, chalaak man eater...jisko pehle din milte hi Jagya "pasand aagaya" so she tagged along to J in hopes of becoming his wife and BH Maharani one day. It's actually the opposite...it's Sanchi who fits this description...wants to own Jagya and is willing to go as low as she has to for it...Ganga tries to free Jagya from his responsibilities to her whenever she can...though he resists...she is not possessive.
