Then I'm curious...which scenes in particular make you think that she is aware of her physicality and is very sensual? A few lines later you are saying she doesn't come across as a physically aware person...so aren't those two lines somewhat contradicting? Don't you need some sense of self-awareness physically to be aware of and embracing your sexuality? That doesn't mean you need to flaunt it...but it shows in your body language...Saachi to me come across as quite a jhalli who is too busy running from one point to the next to even stop to breathe and take in a breath of fresh air...
Her emotions and desires are suppressed to such a point that she is completely unaware of them...but DV is waking those dormant desires slowly.
I do understand your basic point...and as I and others have repeatedly said in this thread...it is not unacceptable if two unattached people give in to their vulnerabilities...but then why are you asking if it's all so wrong in the context of these two characters? Obviously then everyone will reply within the context of these two characters only...giving the examples of this show and films otherwise...You can either make this a general debate on society specifically or the depiction in films/TV...
@ bold I do not think I have contradicted myself...I have clearly said that she is self aware...it is just that she does not flaunt herself...I would request you to take another look...as to giving specific instances, I find Saanchi's sensuality inherent in most of her physical gestures and expressions...it is part of her personality and not a coscious act...after all, some people's body language has an inherent sensuality to it...Sangeeta Ghosh is one person and that is automatically transferred to Saanchi...DV's attraction to her is as much a response to her subtle sensuality as to her goodness of heart...
My question was only in the context of the way Ulka reacted to the whole situation...I was merely reacting the the narrow-mindedness of a society determined to blow something fairly natural quite out of proportion...if you like, I was merely thinking aloud...
I am not looking for a debate here,...merely expressing my response to a particular sequence in the show, which kind of represents a larger real life situation...I was sharing my point of view...since the matter is purely subjective, I dont think a debate is even an option...each to his or her own opinion...
