Since the topic has come up, I thought I would share this link on this subject:

It's a lot of legalese but an interesting read nevertheless.

In some other examples (https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/we-have-to-see-if-breach-of-promise-to-marry-was-mala-filde-says-court/article4733684.ece), I have read that this Breach of Promise to Marry comes into play if the couple have had sex - which is this case doesn't hold.

Quite an interesting scenario, I must say.

thanks for the link..but i think shiv filed the case for some other reason..

like some defamation case..

No. He did not file the case yet. Today or in tomorrow episode the police will interrogate shekhars regarding saanchi suicide attempt and file case against jagya.

if sanchi lies abt physical contact and shekars support her and then all sach comes out how on earth will they face singhs in future?

I don't know the translation for 'manhaani' - I think it means causing dishonour or damaging the honour of the plaintiff.

That is not because of defamation - Jagya has not badmouthed the Shekhars anywhere but he has caused dishonour by not going through with the engagement 'contract'. So that is what it basically means.

Shiv had already decided to file a case against Jagya for 'Maan haani'.

And now Saanchi has complicated the case and Ira is ready to pour out the details, so now Jagya will be booked for Abetment to Suicide. (This is like Suraj Pancholi in the Jiah Khan case - he dumped her and she killed herself, so he was arrested - at least, that is the story so far).

Saanchi is capable of it, and the Shekhars appear capable of falling for that also.

I don't know how they can ever face the Singhs - but I do hope the truth comes out. They do need to be embarassed - the hysterical way they are behaving! Shiv including.

he already talked to lawyer about this...he said to anandi that he was filing a case against jagdeesh for some defamation...

they cant really file a case for the cancelling of marriage..hope jagya wins...

abetment for sucide...impossible...and silly too...😡
