. Chapter 2
Thank God!" the cry escaped from her lips involuntarily by a sheer delight of seeing a vehicle pull to a halt at this deserted place. At last, she was not alone. At last someone else was in the same place as her. Finally someone who might be able to help her and maybe even get her somewhere safe.
Someone- a man, she realized as the person stepped down from his bike and started taking steps towards her.
Not for the first time she cursed her impulsive self to get dowm from the train during thus hour of night, missing getting on it again, and then instead of waiting like a good girl at the platform, roaming in this isolated place and getting lost.
She had been walking from the past two hours now and perhaps was too far from civilization as she had not seen even a single soul living or traling nearby.
Her thoughts and self accusation broke as she again realized about the person standing in front of her. Thanking her Babaji, she did a few steps if bhangra in her mind and then spoke-
"Please- please help me out!"
Her voice muffled as she saw him removing his helmet and showing his face. She froze in her place as her eyes captured his beautiful face.
" What the hell happened to you?" he demanded, with voice filled with concern.
What happened to her? She questioned herself.
Well what happened to her was that, she being the manager in a branch of one of the leading hotel chains in India, "The Khuranas" was going back to her home in Amritsar. But instead of taking a flight, like normal people of her post would do, she was going by train...on one of the stops, she got down, for sight seeing of the station and missed her train. And now due to her stupidity, she was here.
But no she was not going to tell him all this. Firstly, because, well, the reason was funny and this would definitely make her his source of laughter. And secondly, a disturbing rush swung through her body as she realized that he was a man. And after knowing about her immature nature, she did not want him to utilise her innocence in any sort of way.
" Oye-ruko!"
It was a command as she realized that he was unzipping his jacket, shrugging himself out of it and moved closer to her.
But instead of any wrong motive, as she had thought, he
passed the jacket to her, to cover herself in this cold winter night. It was only then she realized the state of her body which was shivering badly. Taking the jacket from his hand, she slung it around her shoulders, letting it settle over her skin, huddling into it for comfort. It was warm and had the faint smell of his make skin. Something, that was making her heart skip a beat. The feeling of relief from loneliness and cold was overpowered with another, unexpected sensual response.
"Th-thank you!" Somehow she managed to get these words out of her mouth and stared at him.
As the moments seemed passing in silence, she realized that she had been so overjoyed to have help, to see some other human, to gave someone actually stop to help her, and to get some unexpected feelings for him, that she hadn't stopped to think- about anything. But right now she realized that thinking was what she had to do- and fast.
She didn't know this man. Had no idea that who he was and why he had actually stopped. She was here in the middle of nowhere, alone and defenceless with a - stranger.
Did he even plan to help her?
All at once, the rush of warmth that had sizzled through her when she had first seen him, and the comfort she felt being in his jacket went away. Still clutching the jacket around her, pulling it tight as a sort of protection against the way she was feeling, she took a couple of hasty steps backward, almost missing her balance and tripping...but before she could fall, she realized the man's hands, big and string around her waist, preventing her fall.
