| Television's original vamp is back in action, but this time in a new avtaar. Actress Shweta Kawatra is back to the grind of daily soaps and will soon be seen making an entry in Kumkum. In the show, Shweta will play a character named Nivedita. Shweta confirms her role in Kumkum and also informs us that she has started shooting for the serial just a couple of days ago. "Due to my hectic work schedule, I could never watch this serial. However, of late I have begun watching it. Out of the blue, I received a call from Star Plus asking me whether I wanted to play the character of Nivedita. After hearing the story and the role, I agreed to do it. Nivedita is Kumkum's college friend and bumps into her coincidentally. She learns about the oddities Kumkum is going through in her life and decides to help her out. Nivedita's character has very warm, nice and positive overtones to it. She enters Kumkum's life and house and helps her regain her lost position in her family," the actress explains. Currently, in the serial, Kumkum is driven out of her house by her elder daughter-in-law, Antara. To take revenge, she becomes Antara's servant and stays with her in the same house. She gains Antara's trust and destroys all her plans of driving the rest of the family members out of the house and staying there alone with her husband. It is during one of these sessions that Kumkum meets her old friend Nivedita and the story gets a new twist. After her role as Pallavi in Balaji's Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii which shot her into the limelight, and her participation in Nach Baliye 2 along with hubby Maanav, Shweta virtually vanished from the screen with only a couple of performances here and there. |
