Hi Friends
Probably this type of technology or medical process was not heard during Mahabharata times. This is possible only during modern times. If it is modern era, one possibility is when Pandu died, his eyes could have been transplanted to help Dhritharashtra. If this were a possibility what would have happened in the great epic? What changes would have happened?

There are so many could-have-beens and would have beens. Why Dhritarashtra being blind alone?
What if -
Vidur had not brought up the issue of Dhritarashtra being unfit to rule?
In fact even Pandu is not exactly a healthy man...why was he considered more fit to rule? How would he fight wars with health problems?
What if Duryodhan were elder to Yudhistir?
What if Pandu had not died in the forest?
What if Kunti had spoken out about Karna when he first arrived on the scene?
What if Kunti revealed it before the war?
😆

The "only if" were the reasons that mb happened 😛

The point about Pandu being physically weak is correct. But you see, the reason that Dhridhrashtra was said to be unfit to be a Kung was because of the fact that his disability was for all to see.. Pandu's weakness was invisible and he was a Samrat of his own stature.. Hence the point of his weakness never aroused..

Yes, Shruti. The saga is really complicated. The beauty of the epic is we can bring any number of questions like what I asked. One can bring out endless discussions.
But why is Dhritharashtra unfit to rule the kingdom and Pandu is not? What are the qualities required in a leader? The following statements are from another website.

'A leader has to be a visionary. He has to be far-sighted. He has to have insight and imagination. He is to always have eyes in the horizon.'

The words visionary, far-sighted, insight, imagination, eyes on horizon - all are connected with eyes. Which say how much eyes are important? Why nothing is said about ears or other senses or even hands? Doesn't this statement indicate how much eyes are important for a leader? Probably based on these points, they decided Dhritharashtra was unfit to rule as we also read to become the king in Kuru dynasty, he needs to be capable.

yesterday Vidhur gave very valid reasons why Dhritrashtra can never be a good king
