Raised in a traditional family, Seetha (Sharanya) is an orphan girl whose parents died in a car accident at a young age. She is cared for by her paternal uncle Sundram who dotes on her lovingly. However she is despised by her aunt Bhanumathi (Kanya Bharathi) and her cousin Priya who are jealous of the lavish attention her uncle has on her. Hence she is treated as a servant in the house, which is unaware by her uncle. Illiterate, her only friend is her neighbour Ammu, a child who comes in and talks to Seetha daily.

Meanwhile, the Chakravarthy family makes headlines as it is known that the billionaire Chitradevi Chakravarthy (Sudha Chandran) is currently seeking a bride for her son Ramkumar and has rejected many possible ones. Fate plays its game and Chitradevi ends up on Sundaram's doorstep, choosing Priya as a prospective bride.

The clever and knowing Chitradevi however knows Priya's true nature and decides to reject her when she sees another girl who is very traditional and doing work in the house obediently following her aunt's orders. Unexpectedly, Chitradevi offers her bangle to Seetha and says she will be her future daughter-in-law.

Bhanumathi and Priya are furious about this turn of events and try to stop this but soon realise that they might be able to acclaim some of the wealth from the Chakravarthy family - through the marriage of Priya and Ravi, the younger grandson of the Chakravarthy family. Bhanumathi hatches up many plans and eventually gets Ravi married to Priya after a lot of drama involving Uma, Ravi's former fiancee.

Chitradevi is not pleased as she knows the true intention of Priya but remains silent as nobody listens to her.

Meanwhile, Ram has a dilemma - his lover Vanitha who is pestering him to stop this arranged marriage. But being adored by everyone in his family especially by his mother Chitra, he finds it impossible to do so and lets her have her wishes. He eventually marries Seetha and soon turns out to ignore her and look down on her.

Ramkumar's sister Kalpana is unhappy about this marriage as well as this resulted in her breaking up with Dinesh, Vanitha's brother who thinks she deserved it as Ram had left his sister. Distraught, Kalpana vows revenge on Seetha.

Seetha faces many problems while in this household - an unloving husband, a cold mother-in-law, a devious sister-in-law and her only comfort and confidante is Patti, the matriarch of the Chakravarthy household and Sumithra (Sulochana), Ravi's mother.

Will Seetha remain sad and lonely in the house? What will Chitra do about the ongoing chaos in her family home?

Thanks for the updates. :). Chithra scenes with Bhanumathy and Priya were good. But I didn't like how the Director showing Chithra hurting her husband and talking bad about her family members. If she was shown good hearted with strict nature it would have been good to watch.

Agree with you - Chitra doesn't seem good natured at all to Seetha, Sumitra, Patti and her husband. She treats Ram partially as well always supporting him even though he ignores Seetha. 😭

But it is worth it to see Chitra to give nose cut to Bhanumathy and Priya through her clever sense of words 😆⭐️
