Emraan kicks butt

Emraan Hashmi has been growing his hair and building up muscles for Mohit Suri's Aawarapan. He's also been doing some rigorous kickboxing sessions to tone up his body for nearly three months.

Says Emraan, who has just finished another schedule of Aawarapan in Hong Kong, "Yes, it's true that I have lost weight and built up muscles for the film.

When we started Aawarapan, Mohit and I realised we would have to do something drastic to tone up my body as my character required it.

He's a lean, mean machine with very disciplined body language. So I took up kickboxing and have lost five kilos during my training."

Atrocious dancer

Emraan adds that he has always been extremely conscious about his diet. "I avoid eating fast foods. Though I don't eat boiled food, I don't binge when eating out either. I avoid carbohydrates after sunset. I love eating meat and chicken though," he says.

Last week, Emraan performed at the an awards function. Was he nervous? "Yes. It was very tough for a couple of days. I am not a dancer.

Bunty (Walia) has been pushing me to perform. It is frightening to perform in front of a live audience as I'm an atrocious dancer!"

Emraan adds that he joined Shiamak Davar's classes when he was in college. "But my friends and I would go only to meet chicks and would always remain in the summer courses for beginners! Ultimately, Shiamak got so fed up with us that he threw us out! This time when I met with him at the awards function, I reminded him about the incident but he had forgotten."

Hair apparent!

He was wearing a headband at the award function a la Abhishek Bachchan. Emraan laughs, "Yes, my hair has grown a lot and since I can't cut it, I wear a head band or my hair looks like a beehive."

He's thrilled about the fact that his wife "Parveen loved my performance."
Emraan and the unit of Aawarapan recently shot a sequence at the Presidential Suite in the Hotel Inter Continental in Hong Kong.

"It's the biggest and most expensive hotel in the world. It costs Rs 12 lakh to stay there for a night. The Sultan of Brunei had stayed here last. We shot during Chinese New Year so the entire skyline in Hong Kong was lit up. It was amazing!"
