First of all a very big thanks to tanu. For keeping the forum alive n active...even after the beloved show ended...
I do not think there has been or can be any show that has won so many hearts , that is still reverberating in the heart beats of fans, long after it ended...
What made ktlk special??well the unique concept, the age difference between the lead characters n then their falling in deep sublime love..love that was beyond conventions, beyond regulations...love that was just love..
The dialogues were simply beautiful..cant thank kpji enough for that..
But what really stole my heart were the moments of silence...the complex nuances that were conveyed by sk n kk ...the love that was so clear even without words...commendable indeed.who can forget the ashni hug..in kerala...the awkwardness of ashu..n then the crushing love...the separation in ep 125, the scene in 127 when dr ashutosh sees nidhi cross the road absent mindedly...the suhaag raat...ashu trying to touch a sleeping nidhi...but then refraining...n the incomplete hug before the engagement...n many more, all these scenes remain etched in memory even though there were no dialogues...remarkable ..to say the least..
The evolution of the character of dr ashutosh from a brooding lonely surgeon , obsessed with baba's house...to a man hopelessly in love ...ready to start a family..ready to savour sweet moments..desires..apprehensions..fame n ignominy with his wife...half his age..the natural changes...the difference in desire for a child, the desire to spend...to have party...were so poignantly brought out...n no one but sk could have made it possible,.
Kk was brilliant too, she , i feel stands apart as the only lead on tv who can convey emotions without raving n ranting...for me kk 's best ep were after the kerala track..whemn she is torn apart between love n duty..
I must make a mention of aloknathji...baba..n his relationship with his foster son was the pivot of the show..it was the natural effortless acting of this great actor that made mathir niwas so believable...his shots with sk in 138 were worth an oscar...again more of tears n glances..also the memorable line"meri chaahat to mujhe mil gayee ab teri chahat bhi tujhe mil jaaye.."the triumverate took this show to another quantum level
Though we craved for ashni romance, waited for the ashni baby more than we had ever waited for our own...yet the truth is the leads were brilliant all thru..but their performances were stellar during the kerala track n the separation due to mallika..in ep 233, the self thoughts of the two make me cry...n ep 342..the daze of nidhi...the care of ashu..hiding his own grief...n then the overpowering love...ufff each time i watch it...i break down...
Serials like ktlk never end...they cannot end..they live on in ff, in the recordings...n most importantly in the hearts of fans...ashni have become a part of u n me...they will live as long as there is love in this world...

Good post Induji. 👏👏👏

With all due respect to KK,SK or ANji, for me, ktlk is not limited to them only, but every single character that has been part of ktlk is very very special... Not only the leads, but even the paramedical staff of KGH -- nurse JankiBai, LakshmiBai are unforgettable for me. Cannot imagine anyone playing HK or Chhote Sarkar except the actors who played it. The actors who played col. Verma & DadiBua are very special & so are those who played Anji, Rangnath, Armaan, Shyamaji & Mr. Solanki. Each & everyone was brilliant , so natural & effortless in his/her acting that everyone not only brought his/her character to life but immortalized that character despite the footage given to him/her. It's not easy to share the screen with legendary actors like ANji & MBji & Vijay Kashyapji & give same awesome performances as they give... But everyone in the show was equally amazing even if a new-comer or less experienced in acting.

And KK was the soul of show. The male protagonist changed in the middle of serial but she carried the show on her shoulders so wonderfully that it never felt like the male lead was missing in the show. With both Ashus, her chemistry was excellent!! And she never had to rely on words to convey her thoughts and emotions. Her facial expressions were always so brilliant that words lacked their importance. Her beautiful eyes conveyed it all that needed. Simply Superb!! 👏👏👏 The makers never forgot to use her immense popularity for promoting this show & other shows of Sony. Had she not been there, KTLK wouldnt have been what it became.
