The makers never alloted anything for the gifts in the budget. So Ashu hardly gave any gifts to Nidhi and whenever he gave, except for the VD gifts, boxes were never opened lest viewers should come to know about boxes being empty.

1. Nidhi didn't want to break her fingernails trying to open the boxes.

2. The velvet covering inside the box read 'artificial jewellery" and the serial makers couldn't afford to let this knowledge become public.

3. The hinges to the boxes were broken from repeated use (in other serials, wherein they had jewellery and were opened)

4. The boxes were used for some other purpose in the serial KTLK (maybe by KP ji to store his writing tips) and couldn't afford to open them and let his competitors know.

5. There was no jewellery available which could fit in these small boxes. Also a box to fit the heavy jewellery used by Nidhi in her marriage was not available in the market.
