Durga is saying that she felt bad because Veer left.Hearing this Raaji gets sad.Looking at her sad face DD and Veena get up and console her.DD says that when Raaji left her house her parents must have told one thing to her that after her wedding her in-laws home is her own home.She has to leave her Maayka back and has full right on her new home.He says that he wants to repeat the same thing that you have full right on this house and think of it as your own.You are a part of this family.Dont worry about anything.
He asks durga for her opinion on it.Durga gets angry and shouts at him.She tells him that too many days news-paper must have stacked up so go and read them and watch TV.DD goes away from there.Then Durga turns all sweet and asks Raaji to make tea for them.Jyoti says she too wants tea.Veena tells them that Raaji cant make tea like this,She is a new daughter-in-law and the first thing she should make is something sweet.That will be a Shagun.Durga agrees and says that they will let go of tea today and in the morning she will make Shagun ka halwa.Raaji gets all tensed.
Moni is oiling her hair and Brij is doing some calculations.Brij has some difficulty doing the calculations and fretting about it.Just then the phone rings.Brij asks for Moni to pick up the phone.Moni says she that her hands are oily so she cant pick up the phone.Brij gets up cribbing about how Moni oils her hair at night and the pillows drinks it in the morning.He picks uo the phone and its Raaji.Raaji is all tensed and asks Brij to give the phone to Moni.Brij also gets worried and asks her what happened.Hearing Brij's worried voice Moni also gets up and comes near Brij.Raaji says that Durga has asked her to make Shagun ka Halwa in the morning but she cant make it.What will she do?Brij tells her that Moni will help her to do the halwa.Moni asks Brij to give her the phone.Brij says her hands are oilyBrij tells her that Moni will dictate her hte recipe and whether she has pen and paper near her.Raaji says that yes and brings it.Moni starts dictating the recipe and Brij repeats it on phone.
The Recipe:
Moni tells that Raaji should take Suji and two cups of Ghee together in a Kadai and cook it till it becomes light brwon.Then she should put three cups water in it and stir till it becomes thick.Then she should put Sugar in it.Raaji asks how much sugar.Brij in turns asks it to Moni.Moni says if she has taken two cups Suji then she should add two cups Sugar and mix it.The Suji is ready.Brij asks Moni about dry-fruits.Moni says she should put dry-fruits on top.
Just then Durga enters Raaji's room and Raaji quickly hangs up the phone.
After Brij keeps the phone Moni complains that to avoid this situation she wanted the girls to learn all the house chores.She worried how will Raaji handle this situation.Brij tells her not to worry,Raaji will handle it.
Durga asks Raaji if she wants Jyoti to sleep in her room.Raaji says she will be fine.Durga says then its ok but then her eyes fall on bed which has some jewellery sets and a diary.Durga tells Raaji that she should take care of her jewellery and keep it properly inside.Raaji gets up and starts keeping the jewellery inside the cupboard.
Durga takes this opportunity and picks up the diary and reads whats written.She reads the recipe written for haslwa and understands that Raaji took the recipe from her Maayka and has a evil smirk on her face.When Raaji turns she keeeps the diary quickly and reminds Raaji that she has to cook in the morning.After Durga leaves Raaji is religiously by-hearting the recipe.
Its morning.Raaji enters the kitchen where Durga is already present.Durga tells her that every mother-in-law wnats a daughter-in-law who can cook good food.A way to the heart is through the stomach.Durga says she hopes Raaji will do a fine job.The preparation is already laid out on the kitchen table.It doesnt look like its for Halwa.Durga tells that Raaji that she will have to make kheer instead of halwa.Raaji gets tensed.Durga gives an evil smile and leaves from there.
Raaji doesnt understand what to do and hurriedly calls Home.Moni picks up hte phone and Raaji tells her about the situation.She tells Moni to again dictate the recipe.moni says she wont be able to make kheer like this.She will make kheer and send it with Mahi within 15 minutes,not to worry.Raaji says she doesnt feel good doing this.Raaji says its ok,she should just put dry-fruits from the top.Its just a tradition.
Mahi and Soni are chopping dry-fruits,Moni has milk cooking in a very big vessel.Moni asks Naani to hurry with the rice.Naani puts rice in milk and Moni starts stirring it.Moni asks Soni to chop dry-fruits quiclky.She says she cant understand how to chop them.Moni asks Mahi to stir the kheer adn she starts chopping the dry-fruits.Mahi starts stirring and Moni tells her to do it properly.(Its symbolic how Mahi is shown stirring the kheer.Is it sign of things to come?).
Everyone is busy preparing for Kheer and here Raaji is getting worried with the passing time.Durga and Jyoti are having tea and having fun at Raaji expense.They know Raaji cant make kheer and are joking about eating kheer.
The kitchen phone rings and its Veer.Raaji says it you?Veer jokes that no he is somebody else.Ofcourse its him.Veer asks her if she remembers him?Raaji says yes.Veer asks her how much she loves him?Raaji is shy and doesnt answer.Veer says if she wont answer he will come there and get the answer.Raaji says she loves him a lot.
At this moment Durga calls Raaji and about the kheer.Raaji tells Veer its Mummyji and keps the phone.Veer calls again and Raaji says dont call she will call later.Veer asks her how can she love mummyji more than her son.Raaji is tensed about kheer and says she will call later.Veer is slightly amused by Raaji's state.
The phone rings again and Raaji picks up and says she will call later.Mshi is in car and she tells Raaji its her.Raaji asks her when she is coming.Mahi says in 10 minutes.Raaji shouts 10 minutes.Mahi says actually 10 secs.She tells Raaji to come out.
Durga and Jyoti's tea-drinking session is over and Jyoti says they should go and check the kheer.They are ready to go just then the phone rings.Durga picks up and its no-one.Raaji is packing all ingredients in a bag.When Durga and Jyoti walk again the phone rings again.Its a blank call.durga says that she doesnt understand why people give blank calls.
Raaji goes out and while running all ingredients from her bag fall out.Jyoti and Durga come to kitchen and are shocked not to find Raaji there.They start thinking where Raaji might have gone?When Raaji is picking up the things Maahi comes there.Raaji asks her why is she late.Mahi says she came as quickly as possible.She gives her kheer and says that she hopes it will be enough.Raaji says she is not liking what she is doing.Mahi says everything will be fine.Raaji gives her ingredients and says they were for Kheer and should be distributed in poor people.She just kept some dry-fruits to mix in kheer.Raaji returns and is shocked to find Durga and Jyoti in kitchen.
