Kools, you are absolutely right. Love what you wrote. If Jagya had explained everything to them before he left for Mangalore, Sumi and Dadi would have made him get reengaged to Sanchi.

It was laughable when Dadisa said that he should have shared his feelings with her. He was looking so morose and nobody was concerned about that. He wanted to talk to Anandi before agreeing to the proposal and they stopped him from doing so. Dadi and Sumi finds Ganga's photo in his cupboard, yet no one bothered to ask him about his feelings for Ganga.

At one point, they were blaming themselves for the child marriage. What is different from what was done years ago? That time, Anandi and Jagya were not getting any choices and this time too Jagya was not getting any say in whom he wanted to marry.

It is not that they haven't seen Sanchi's nasty behavior before. In full public (villagers were invited too), she insulted Anandi during the engagement for trapping Shiv. Suddenly, she is shown as sugar sweet and even when Jagya tells them about her conversation with friends, she is believed over him.

I agree that Jagya needs to stop reason with them and get on with his life. He should also tell Sumi/Dadi that he would not tolerate any insults against Ganga.

Imagine calling a girl who was repeatedly raped since the age of 12 as a "stale flower". I hope they show Sugna's mother-in-law taking Sumitra to task. Her unmarried son married a pregnant Sugna and gave a name to her son.

Less said about the Shekhars, the better. I feel sympathy for Anandi who is being blamed for not warning them. Ira attacked her viciously when she clearly told them that Jagya and Sanchi were not compatible. Ira and most Shekhars (Meenu probably is the exception) cannot believe that their spoilt daughter wants a toy and is not getting one because of some girl who is lower in status to them.

So the Jagya who saved Sanchi from getting raped and saved Daddu's life, suddenly needs to be taught a lesson. Kools, I like your questions as to what they would have done short of getting him murdered. Engagements break all the time and girls still get married. So why so much anger that the marriage broke. Who asked Sanchi to tatoo his name on her hand even before they took the proposal.

I think Ira/Alok/Shiv/Daddu will accept Jagya in a minute if he breaks off with Ganga and comes back to them. The disapproval will once again disappear.

Finally, I agree that Anandi has tolerated enough of this abuse and needs to speak up. She stands for women's rights and now need to demand the respect she deserves. If she still doesn't get it, she needs to walk out.
