No. Apu was paired with Mona vasu. Ratan was one of the sisters of Mona in the show. Even Ragini Khanna was there as another sis. Both Ragini and Ratan used to have nice equation with Dr. Shekhar (played by Apu) in the show. so they had scenes together.

Ratan is playing her game very smartly. It seems like her each move is very calculated. She's trying to please the people of bigger and stronger group. As simple as that. She aint as bholibhali as she's trying to appear in front of housemates.
