f**king Yes. This movie was predictable. I hated almost each minute of it. Same ole formula. I was fixing to skip the film, but god damn deepika was too hot to avoid it.
This film was probably ghost written by Karan Johar. Vacation after college with three friends, another nerd joins. an ambitious character is the heart of the screenplay and decides to chase his dreams. his dream was to see the world? how in the world all of a sudden became a travel show host? yeah he went to NW in Chicago, but that was just an added stuff. I think the film would've been better if it wasn't so typical. friends encounter each other when one of them is about to get married. nerd girl is turned into a living sexy creature all of a sudden. there are tons of med students that are suffering, but they sure don't complain like Naina did. anyways, this film was terrible.only good parts were the music, great looking deepika, kalki acted superbly. Same ole story different cast and in a different year. blah. Ayan Mukherji, you disappointed me after Wake Up Sid. I was expecting so much more.

p.s. I actually liked Deepika this time. 😃

could be true. ayan must have brought something different and karan must have thrown it.
karan : are u kidding...is this a script

ayan : no its my baby

karan : then F your baby.

ayan : what ?

karan yes 'F' ur baby becoz without 'F'ing it, u can't make a blockbuster. people won't like it. screw it up. really hard and then come back...

AYAN : ok

This film could've been another coming of age film if they didn't add all the melodramatic scenes and songs. It would have been a decent film if Karan Johar wasn't involved so much. I'm obsessively fixated with Konkana and Ranbir in Wake Up Sid. I thought both were such meaty characters I've ever seen in a modern coming of age film in hindi cinema. I expected another mature love-story from Ayan, but got this pot boiler.

copy pasting what I wrote in the review thread:

love for cameras(video vale not still)-check
a fun friends circle+a fight+make up towards the end-check
problems with parents-check
girl realizes feelings first-check
life altering talk on a the top of a fort(instead of a tank)-check
cake(real vala, not bread and jam vala)-check
a coming of age story-check
Amazingly BEAUTIFUL visuals and stunning cinematography-check

This is Karan Johar's WUS..larger than life sets, breaking into songs at every given chance..it has it all..I loved the first half..the second half was okayish..I was prepared to be disappointed..probably that's why I didn't think it was that bad!

Phew. Glad I wasn't the only one. After seeing the film today, I decided to google search opinions/reviews and it had a lot of positive reviews. For what reason? god these people are not expecting much from hindi cinemas these days. I liked the first half more than anything else too. the second part dragged on for a bit. I loved the reference it made to Aisha from Wake Up Sid.
I would not give this film another try.

coz that's what fans do-prop up everything their fave does!

WUS was showing on TV yesterday..2.5 hours well spent
I refuse to believe that Ayan would actually make a movie like this! In one of his IVs Ranbir said that KJo cajoled them into taking Badtameez Dil even though both Biru and Ayan were unsure! I'm sure he did that with pretty much with the entire movie!

well i shouldn't blame AYAN becoz even WUS was a success, it wasn't a blockbuster, and if it was coming from another banner, it would have been flop and gone unnoticed. ayan needs a godfather to rescue his boat so he will continue to make films under his wings. he can't revolt like nikhil advani. look where he is now. unless ayan becomes a huge director and all big banners like UTV and reliance taking him as director. he will be making films under KJO banner according to his wishes

Yeah heard on a promo with Komal Nahta that Ayan wasn't really happy with how the movie turned out & how its not his usual style! No wonder he is globetrotting to get over the movie😆 Who will pay us audiences to globetrot to get over his crapfest😭
