I Love You and That's the Truth.
Jhanvi was trying to enjoy her Nephew's Baby Shower aka Naam Karan Ceremony but she was continuously being disturbed by the phone call from a person whose name whenever flashed on the mobile screen it only made Jhanvi more and more angry. As it is Jhanvi was not able to concentrate on the ceremony. She was again and again getting the flashes of Shaurya Singhania, bending down and bringing his face close to her ears and whispering "I Like You" in his soft velvety voice and staring at her with those big, deep and intense eyes... STOP, Stop it Jhanvi, What the hell is wrong with you. Since when you started admiring Shaurya's Voice and Eyes. He is nothing more than a Spoiled Rich Brat who thinks that he owns the world and people around him.
After much Tamasha from Pari Bhabhi and her Mom, finally the Name Keeping Ceremony of the Baby got over and Jhanvi was relieved, that she wouldn't have to force herself to concentrate on the ceremony while the imbecile Shaurya Singhania kept disturbing her. Surprisingly the phone had stopped ringing. Good Riddance; Jhanvi thought, that he finally got the message that She was not interested in talking to him. Jhanvi thought that now the function is over, she would go and lie down for sometime and complete her sleep which she was not able to do because of the Arrogant Brat who kept honking his car horn in front of his house. Afraid that he might wake other members of the house Jhanvi went down to meet him and gave him a nice long lecture on 'Values and Sanskar'. Jhanvi thought that he would again create a scene, but instead that insane man started blabbering something about being amazed by her courage and even saluted her. But how the hell did he knew that Jhanvi had a knife hidden behind her back. The most strangest thing was that Jhanvi should have panicked and shouted at top of her voice in order to awake Prem Bhaiya or Siddhart Bhaiya, and they would have took care of him, but instead Jhanvi stopped both her Bhabhi from telling anything about this to her over-possessive and caring brothers. After that Jhanvi was not able to sleep the whole night, and on top of that she had to wake up early in the morning to help in the preparations of the function. But now that the function was over and Jhanvi was dead tired she could hardly keep her eyes open. Just when she was about to go to her room her phone ringed again and this time it was from Hospital and Dean was once again insisting her to come and join the hospital and resume her duties, Jhanvi once again tried to refuse the offer but this time Dean was sounding tense, his voice was trembling and he was literally begging her. It really hurt Jhanvi to hear a man of her Father's age literally begging her over the phone. She decided to go to the hospital and talk face to face about her decision to the Dean and to make him understand that her decision is final and irrevocable.
Just when Jhanvi was about o go, she was stopped by her Mom and her Mom offered to accompany her, but Jhanvi felt that absence of two important members at the same time while such a big function was being conducted would look odd and would not go down well with the guests and other family members. So she requested her mom to stay back as she would be back soon. After all this was not the first time she is going somewhere alone. All her life until Jhanvi came to know the truth about her parentage she has successfully managed to steer her life in right direction and she knows the difference between what's good and bad for her. After convincing her Mom that she would not accept Dean's offer of joining the hospital no matter how much he tries to convince her to do otherwise, she took Mom's leave and left in the car sent by the hospital Dean to pick her up from her home.
After she reached the hospital she was surprised to see that the hospital was totally empty and there was no one to be seen. It was too early for the change in shift, her intuition was telling her that something is not right. But however she evaded this feeling and started walking towards Dean's room to clear the issues regarding her re-joining the hospital and resuming her duties. Just as she was about to open the door to the Dean's office a ward boy came to her and informed her that Dean has asked her to come to Ward No. 301-A. It was really surprising and somewhat fishy. First the Dean calling her and insisting her to come to the hospital immediately, then the hospital being all empty with the absence of staff and now Dean calling her in some ward instead of meeting her in his office. All this was giving Jhanvi an ominous feeling but still she brushed away these feeling and started walking towards Ward No.301-A. As soon as Jhanvi opened the door she was surprised to see the room decorated with Flowers and Scented Candles and a table was set in the center of the room with two chairs. There were rose petals scattered upon the table, on one side of the table there was a big flower bouquet, and on the other end a Champagne Bottle with two tall wine glasses. Before Jhanvi could understand anything or react, she felt a presence behind her and heard the same velvety voice which created a weird stirring in her heart and aroused a strange feeling, which she has never felt before. Suddenly her heart beats accelerated and her pulse was running a marathon. Sometimes there are some pros and cons of being in Medical profession, you start self-examining yourself and start analyzing your heart-beat and pulse rate in medical terms instead of concentrating on real problems. Just as Jhanvi turned around, she came face to face with Shaurya Singhania who was staring at her with those big, brown eyes which were deep and intense. Shaurya Singhania with his towering height was tall, not-so-dark and handsome man who fitted the bill of being the Fairy-Tale Prince Perfectly to the T. But it was also true that he was the most arrogant, rude and rich spoiled brat who had no feelings towards other people's emotions. He had no values or whatsoever in his life and treated everyone around him like dirt, trying to demean them and disrespect them at every given opportunity. Just as this thought entered Jhanvi's mind she was snapped out of her reverie and she shouted.
"You, What are you doing here and what's all this?"
Shaurya immediately closed the distance between him and Jhanvi, came very close to her picked up a rose flower from the table and extended his hands towards Jhanvi, "I Love You Jhanvi."
Jhanvi was shocked beyond belief. She immediately understood that all this was Shaurya's Plan, compelling the Dean to call her to the hospital and play this cruel prank on her. Jhanvi was seething with anger, she so wanted to once again slap Shaurya, but she knew better than that to do such a mistake in an enclosed room, where there was no one to save her from his wrath, so she considered it wise to leave the room, before she could no longer control the temptation of leaving her finger prints on Shaurya's jaw line. When Shaurya saw Jhanvi making the attempt to get out of the room, he immediately made use of his quick reflexes and grabbed her soft hand and twisted her around, gracefully in full filmy style, grabbed her waist and pinned her to his chest, leaving absolutely no gap between them except for small and fast breaths which were getting hotter by each passing second. Once again Shaurya opened his mouth and spoke in his most elusive velvety voice, only this time he was literally breathing the words inside Jhanvi's ears which were making it difficult for her to concentrate on what he was saying and making her loose her self-control. At this moment Jhanvi's answer would have been 'YES' to everything no matter whatever the question was. But Jhanvi was also a tough player, she snapped out of her reverie very quickly and listened to what Shaurya had to say.
"Jhanvi, I know, my behavior towards you in this past week has been rude and I have treated you very badly, disrespected you at every given opportunity and even made you loose your job, but trust me Jhanvi, I deeply regret for my actions now. I hav come across many girls in my life who fell for my Money, Power, Charm and Good looks, but you are the only person who had the guts to stand up against me and my flare for breaking rules and corrected me at every given opportunity by raising your voice, by giving me those tough looks and even going to the extend of slapping me in public. You are really a very rare piece Jhanvi and I like your bravery, your guts and your blunt nature. Its driving me crazy and I really need you in my life Jhanvi"
Jhanvi with great difficulty released herself from Shaurya's grip an pushed him away just like she did the other night in order to clear her head and to think and speak coherently. "Excuse me Mr. Shaurya Singhania, I think you have greatly mistaken me for some showpiece in the market whom you desired and want to buy it just for the sake of your amusement and to satisfy you big, fat male ego. I know you want me, just for the sake of the truth that you can't have me. I'm not an item kept for sale with a price tag. I'm an human with flesh and blood and with lot of self-respect which have been blown to smithereens,umpteenth times by you in this past one week, which you are very well aware of by yourself. And I don't have any desire or whatsoever to repeat this mistake for the rest of my life, by accepting your disgusting proposal. Now if you will excuse me, I have My Family waiting for me back home and I have to return quickly!!" Jhanvi purposely stressed on Family in order to let Shaurya know that if he tried any hanky-panky with her he would have to face very serious consequences as she was not alone anymore, she had her whole family behind her, her pillar of strength supporting her, protecting her and willing to do anything for her to make her happy.
Jhanvi turned around opened the door and exited the room and started walking towards the hallway in quick strides, but before she could turn the corner Shaurya caught up with her and blocked her path and implored her to stop and listen to him for just five minutes. "Please Jhanvi just listen to me for five minutes after that I promise I won't stop you again and then you can go to your home."
These words made Jhanvi stop in her path and she decided to listen to Shaurya against her better sense of judgement. She nodded her head, signaling Shaurya that he had only five minutes to say whatever he wanted to say, after that she will be gone, no matter what.
"Jhanvi, Shaurya continued in his pleading tone I lost my parents at very young age, since then my whole responsibility fell upon my Didi, she was the one who raised me and took care of me as well as our family business and home. Among all this juggling she was sometimes not able to render her full attention towards me, So made up for it my fulfilling all my demands weather right or wrong. I don't blame her, because trying to manage everything altogether at one time can get quite difficult sometimes. My Didi loves me a lot and she sometimes tend to overlook my mistakes and hardly ever reprimands me for my elusive behavior. But it was all until I met you. You changed my perspective towards life and made me realize that how wrong I was in not respecting other people's emotions and treating people in demeaning manner. Jhanvi I know that you too have been lonely all through your life just like me, It was not until recently you learned the truth about your Parentage and came face to face with your real identity and your family." Jhanvi was surprised to hear those words and was wondering that how the hell did Shaurya knew all this??
As though on cue Shaurya spoke out "I know Jhanvi, you must be wondering that how come I know so much about you, well all I can say is that rich people have their own ways to dig out truth about people whom they consider important, please don't think that I'm trying to stalk you or trying to rub my richness on your face. Jhanvi you have to understand that I like you a lot and I'm madly and crazily in love with you and I want you as my life partner for the rest of my life. That is the reason I made my people gather all the information possible about you in order to know you and understand you better. Jhanvi you very well know that a person is never bad, it's the circumstances that make them go bad. I was provided with every comforts of life in silver platter and that's the reason which made me what I'm today. A rich spoiled brat. As I was a lonely child, I threw tantrums to gain attention from my Didi, but all I got was expensive gifts and freedom to do whatever I desired for. If ever I made a mistake my Didi covered up for me by paying for the loss, and buying people's loyalty with money. This gave me confidence that I can do anything and no one would have the guts to go against me as I have strong backing of my Sister with the ability to shut people's mouth by paying them in huge amount. Remember Jhanvi, even you tortured your Sister-In-Law under your fake GrandMom's influence in order to avenge your supposedly dead Father, whom you came to know that was never your real Father. So basically we both have done wrong things in our life, you driven by revenge and me driven by madness of Money and Power. We are two wrong people who are meant to be together. It all fits perfectly.
All this was too much for Jhanvi to take in one day. At first Shaurya had the guts to call her to the hospital in sly manner and on top of that going out of way and digging up dirt about her past and laying it before her, about which she was ashamed to think of. Yes, Jhanvi accepted that she had done wrong and she did not took pride in it, she was rather very ashamed and given opportunity she would have undone this deed, but what was she to do as she was under the influence of her then fake Grandmother who dished out false stories about her supposedly dead father and told her very clearly that her father's spirit will not gain peace unless and until his death was avenged by putting an end to his murderer i.e., her own real Mother. The more Jhanvi was trying to forget these things the more Shaurya was reminding her about all this by depicting the facts to her once again. It has been after a decade that her life has returned to normal with a very big, happy family who have very graciously forgiven all her wrong-doings and accepted her with so much of love and care. Just because she had done wrong in her past under someone's influence does not mean she would accept Shaurya's proposal and marry him just for the sake of conjoining two wrongs to make it right as per his say.
"I'm sorry Mr. Shaurya Singhania my answer is still No'. I think your five minutes are over and now If you will excuse me once again I have to go home."
"Is this your final decision??"
"Yes, and no matter what you say its not gonna change."
"Fine then, Goodbye."
Jhanvi pushed the button of the lift very hard as though trying to levy all her anger on the lift button, but just as the lift reached the floor and opened with a ping sound, she heard a lot of screaming and shouting and commotion coming from the corner of the hallway which she has left a minute before. It looked like that suddenly the hospital has come to life. All the staff who was missing until now were running hither and thither, before she could understand anything, her ex-colleague ran up to her and told her that Shaurya Singhania had slit his wrist and denying the first aid and constantly chanting her name. If not attended immediately he might loose lot of blood as the cut is very deep. But he refrains anyone from touching him or attending to him and constantly demanding for her presence. Listening to this Jhanvi almost lost her consciousness and ran like a mad person to the place where Shaurya was. She reached there within no time. Shouted at everyone to move out of her way and held Shaurya's hand tightly in order to stop the bleeding. She asked for First-Aid and started dressing up the wound. After finishing the dressing she instructed the Ward Boys to help Shaurya in to the ward and to inject him with Glucose Drip to make up for the heavy loss of the blood, caused by the deep cut in the wrist and give him the painkiller. When everything was done as per her instruction, she was again able to breathe normally.
She instructed the ward boys to leave and told everyone not to crowd the room or the corridor as everything is now under control and patient needs to rest. She told everyone to get back to their work, as she will stay back to look after the patient. When everyone left the room, she turned around to see Shaurya grinning at her with mischievous look in his eyes. She was seething with anger. She immediately closed the distance between the two, reached towards his bed, got hold of his t-shirt collar and brought him close to her and said "Have you lost your mind?? What were you thinking. God forbid if anything would have happened to you??"
"Why do you care so much, you don't love me right, then why did you save me?"
"Oh Please!! Don't ever for a moment think that I did all this because I'm attracted to you or I like you or something. I did all this as per my duty and have it been someone else in your place I would have done the same for him."
"Oh Yeah!! Would you have also had tears of care and concern in your beautiful eyes for someone else and would you have held his collar in similar manner like you are holding mine and would you have reprimanded him the same way as you are doing to me????" Shaurya asked with the same mischievous look in his eyes which Jhanvi was liking with each passing moment. Shaurya asked too many questions for which Jhanvi had no answer. She was flabbergasted and lost for words. She was blushing and her cheeks turned deep crimson with shame as she was twiddling with her duppatta.
"Come on Jhanvi, accept it that you are attracted to me and you like me too. See I'm not telling you to start loving me instantly, all I'm asking for is an opportunity to know you better, by taking you out for a date or two. Come on Jhanvi say yes."
"I.., I .. I.. " Jhanvi was lost for words, as much she wanted to say yes she does not wanted to make it look too easy for Shaurya.
"Jhanvi if you do not agree to come on date with me I will remove the IV drip and walk out of here and if something happens to me you would be solely responsible for my condition."
"Mr. Shaurya Singhania you can't blackmail me into doing things according to your whims and fancies in order to please you."
"Yes, I can. Try me!! And I'm not blackmailing you, I'm just asking for a chance. That's it. Is it too much to ask for??!!. Come on Jhanvi, Just One date. Please!!"
"Ok, Fine!! I will go out with you. Happy??"
"Very. Oh and Jhanvi Darling, you can leave my t-shirt collar now as I want to rest as I'm feeling very tired and dizzy b'cos of the blood lose and the sleeping meds are kicking in."
Jhanvi was embarrassed beyond belief as she did not realize that she was holding on to Shaurya's t-shirt very tightly and was in very close proximity to him, so much that just a whisk of movement was enough for them and they would be brushing eachother's lips. As though Shaurya has read Jhanvi's mind he caught hold of Jhanvi's grip on his t-shirt restraining her to withdraw and gave her a deep, passionate kiss and went to sleep because of the Meds effect leaving a very flustered Jhanvi burning in Crimson red color and drowning in the puddle of blush. She looked at Shaurya for one last time and stroked his forehead running her fingers into his spiky gelled hair, before she left the ward to make a call to her home and coming up with alibi telling them that why she won't be able to come home tonight.
