If Jodha is the one to discover her feelings first, we will get to enjoy her lusting over his delicious body (the same thing a Rajput princess of galore ought not to do, so some rebellion from patriarchy there). also, we get to see how she deals with the dissonance of having to share her lover with countless other women. how does she come to terms with the fact that he doesn't and can never love her the way she does. that even if she succeeds in being his wife, she will never be the only one for him. that he will always have other women but she can never have the same freedoms

this will build an interesting character arch as opposed to Jalal being all doe eyed and seducing her with his charm (too cliche)
