Singhs kept silent as DS spoilt Jagya rotten, insisted on child marriages, broke laws etc. Hence till date they are paying price for her actions and their inaction.

Sumitra was silent and clueless as both her kids got out of her hands.

Anandi bore DS' abuse silently. Hid about Jagya's lies and misdeeds in silence.

Bhago kept silent or only begged Maaji sa as her daughter was abused. She silenced Khajaan whenever he tried to speak. She did speak once but that was too late.

Bhairon kept silent despite helping Gauri. This only backfired as her family forever believed no Singh was their well wisher and that they suffered due to them.

Bhairon kept silent in front of Maa sa and Bhai sa earlier. Now he keeps silent in front of Sumitra. Result is there to see.

Gauri kept silent, heard, believed and followed her mother's crazy talks, ideas and lies about past. Hence she suffered.

Shekhars kept silent and let their kids do anything. Result is there to see.

Jagya kept silent earlier when he started having feelings that Anandi was not for him or he felt stuffed by his family. He kept silent as Gauri's mother wreaked havoc in their relationship. He kept silent now with Singhs, Sanchi and Shekhars. Things worsened. Speaking up earlier was better.

Ganga kept silent about her love for Jagya. (Had she shared earlier then Jagya would have been more clear in his feelings...). She kept silent on her attachment with Singhs (Sumi misunderstands her).

Anandi kept silent on Ira's misgivings with her and her past. Silent on Sanchi. Silent on Jagya. She's paying for it heavily. Incidentally she and Shiv have kept silent about Kashmir incident too. Who knows when it may come to haunt them with that humshakal Vikram?

CM remains silent despite Ira's treatment to her.

Mahi is silent over Ashima and what happened between them.

DS remained silent over manipulations she did in past.

In all cases had people spoken up earlier or confided in someone trusted and wise earlier and sought intervention, been honest enough, then so many problems would not have happened.

They speak but only when it's too late, when spoken word wouldn't be understood in right spirit or if they speak, they do it abruptly and rudely - something that's like a shock for other parties involved.

Silence doesn't always solve things or create peace. It's also a sign of timidity and fatalist mentality, hoping for things to get better by themselves. It is not always a sign of fortitude. It can be egoistic, callous, conniving and timid too.

If it breaks at wrong time, wrong place then there is always a storm!

Love your post but just one thing i feel...silence is not good in BV and it made everyone suffer but what really went wrong was when the character kept silent at the wrong and spoke everything when not needed...specially Anandi kept silence whenever she was needed to speak and when it was better for her to be silent she spoke honestly with out any tact and put the axe on her own toes.

I once read an editorial which said "silence is not always golden, sometimes it is just plain yellow"
I really believe that this phrase, coming somewhere from within the bible, originated in terms of admonishing people not to gossip, backbite etc. In the case of saanchi and her friends, it would ave been prudent for saanchi to have kept her mouth shut about the singhs. Silence was golden in that case.
Yet, it is not a rule to be followed for keeping quiet and shielding wrongs.
So basic is -- if you are speaking ill of others, then silence is golden.
If you use the silence to just save your own ass, and stay safe yourself, or to shield others knowing that it is wrong, then silence is yellow! 🤣 yellow = cowardice.
