Look at the TVT chart on IF. Kekta mai's serial in same slot on rival channel, which was launched few months ago has seen huge jump in ratings. No wonder competitors are feeling the heat. Even DKDM dropped Ramayan and instead shifted to explosive track on Maa Kali - with suspense, action and drama added to it.

BV is old horse. It had to add shock value to avoid sliding down.

They seem to be trying to create tension and excitement among viewers. And I think they have succeeded given how this forum also is set ablaze after every episode since last 2 days.

Sanchi alone wasn't enough. Making others like Sumitra and Ira go Dolby way was needed to add masala.

I think audience also likes to see tortured and suffering women. Ratings of Saraswatichandra skyrocketed ever since the domestic violence track started!

I think Jagya had had the most curses - even Anandi told him something like tumhe kabhi shanti nahi milegi when she sprinkled bhabhuti on his face.
