Difference b/w Virtual & Real Friends?

Here's a thought of the day for you all....

Have you ever thought about the fact that you have virtual friends and friends outside of IF?

Some of you may have more friends on IF than outside, and some of you may have very few friends here but a lot more out of IF. But what is the major difference between your virtual and real friends?

When you talk to your IF friends.... do you feel that you can tell them more things, because you're not talking to them face-to-face? Is it easier to become closer to a friend on IF, or a friend outside of the internet?

Or do you feel that making friends here is so difficult because there are so many people? You feel more comfortable when you're not online making friends?

People are themselves in virtual world. They are not afraid of others passing judgments so they are more comfortable sharing their thoughts. In a virtual world one can become anyone and make lot of friends. In real world people are always cautious to open up and shed inhibitions for the fear of getting judged by others. But virtual friendship is risky because you don't know whom you are chatting to. As long as one knows where to draw the line and not become excessively possessive or attached (true for real world too), virtual world is a better place to make lot of good and supportive friends.

I have more friends on IF than outside...in outside world...ppl r really busy...I still have a few friends...that I love a lot...but we r all kinda busy...I don't interact a lot with them... and its kinda hard for me to become friends with someone who is not Asian...I am not racist or anything... still have friends who r not Asian...but I am more comfortable with those that r Asian...I feel they understand me better😊

hmm...both...lately...I am kind close more to my IF friends...like Rimi and Naina...they r just a PM away...and its so sweet how they r always there for u... and I feel I have known my friends on IF for a very long time now...so when I make friends outside...I kind tell my online friends...coz I chat with them more often

nah...its not...before I used to think that u can never make friends online...but when I did...I was surprised how I could really trust my online friends like real friends...lol.. and online...we don't have to make every single person our friend...its like when we r not online...we also don't make eevry person we meet our friend...but just a few...so online is same thing..😊

There's not much difference b/w my virtual and real friends. I have the same amount of friends in both places and I love them both. All of them are kind and caring. But I think I can be more free with my virtual friends becuz I am not face-to-face. I think its very easy to make friends, IF and off... so there's not much difference for me. But one things for sure, I love my friends!!!🤗

Awesome topic. It always makes me think... but then I don't think about it because... who likes thinking? 😕
But I'll think about it now. Ok so, well, outside IF friends know who you REALLY are. Like online you may be outgoing, but in everyday life you may be a shy person. Your virtual friends may not be aware of this, but your outside IF friends are. Now, you may be outgoing with your outside IF friends too, but you might still be shy around other people.
So basically online friends don't know the whole story, but one side of it, and outside IF friends know you better... in a way. Sometimes it's easier to get your point across while talking online, but then there are those times when you just can't and the only way you can really explain is face-to-face.
Now, there can be many other situations... this is just my point of view.😛 The main thing is that friends are friends and u gotta love them all!😃
