The shrill voice of the alarm pierced through the room. Maan jerked out of his shallow sleep, to quickly turn it off before it would disturb Geet's sleep trying his best to avoid her reaction on finding herself on the bed. Turning it off Maan glanced towards the bed to find her sleeping peacefully. Satisfied, Maan walked out leaving her to sleep for the time being. Maan got dressed quickly and left the room. Geet stirred in her sleep, feeling the aura of the morning flowing through the room. She slowly opened her eyes to see the clock showing 9 O'clock to her utter horror. Hurriedly, she sat up to realize she was sleeping on the bed. Her gaze moved towards the couch, to find it empty.

How did I reach the bed.? Maan, must have shifted me here after I slept. She admitted to herself, with a smile on her face. Soon, the previous day surfaced up her memories as she remembered the party, the events and her outburst on Maan wiping the smile off her face. But her thoughts were broken again, as her gaze moved towards the clock again.

Babajii.!!! How can I sleep till 9.? What will Dadimaa be thinking.? She cursed herself, as she rushed to get ready. Once ready, Geet sprinted down the stairs to find Dadimaa and Rohan already seated at the table.

Good Morning Dadimaa.! Sorry I am late, actually I didn't know the time and.. She started explaining in a panic stricken voice.

Geet, bte.! Stop it, its okay.! You don't need to be sorry. How are you feeling now.? Dadimaa asked caressing her hair, smiling lovingly at her.

I am fine Dadimaa.! She said, looking around the table to get a glimpse of him.

That's good bte.! And if you are looking for Maan, let me tell you he has already left for office. Dadimaa informed her with a smile, as she saw Geet restless gaze searching every corner of the room.

He left.? Geet asked shocked hearing Dadimaa's words. He didn't wake her up either, nor said a word and simply left. Did she say too much.?

Bete.! It's already past 9, and if you know him you should know no one can come between his office and him. He loves his work too much, Daadima said disapprovingly shaking her head.

Yes Dadimaa, you are right.! That jerk loves his office so much that he left without meeting me even now, after almost 12 hours of my arrival. Rohan walked towards the table, with a frown.

What am I ever going to do with him.? Dadimaa said in a sad tone. Geet stood there listening to the two bickering about Maan's behaviour, smiling occasionally.

Good Morning Geet. Rohan greeted her with a polite smile.

Good Morning. She reciprocated with the same smile.

Come Geet, let's have our breakfast now. Let Maan be happy in his office. Anyhow I have a sweet shock for Mr. Khurana once he comes back. Dadimaa said, eying Rohan and giggling as they enjoyed pulling Maan's leg in his absence. Though Geet was present at the table physically, yet her mind was wondering about Maan and her words last night. As the day passed, Geet grew restless, on not being able to hear from him even once. Dadimaa had to call out to her thrice to get her attention. Peace ran through her when she heard Dadimaa asking her to tale lunch for Maan, as he left without having anything. Geet, agreed quickly.

Khurana Constructions

Adi, come in to my cabin right now. Maan barked on the phone, scaring the hell out of Adi. He stumbled his way across the corridor towards Maan's cabin and slightly knocked on the lion's den.

Come in Maan answered. Adi slowly entered the cabin, on his heels scared of the early morning wrath.

Yes Sir. Sir, if you are going to ask about the Mehra's file, its ready sir. But the meeting..Adi, said meekly, only to be cut off by Maan.

It's not about the Mehra's Adi. And don't worry about it, I just came back from the same meeting as I already read your note in the morning. So can I talk about what I have called you here for.? Maan asked looking up from his file, glaring towards Adi.

Ye...ye..Yes Sir. Adi stammered, fixing his specs properly on his nose. Typical, nervous Adi.!

Go and cancel the Singhania's contract right now.!. I want the papers on my desk in half an hour and the cancelled contract on Nisha's face within one hour. Maan ordered with anger coated in each of his words. Adi stumbled in shock, hearing his words.

What.? Cancellation letter to the Singhania's.? He rechecked, in case he heard something wrong.

Yes Adi, Cancellation letter.! Maan confirmed with the same venom in his voice, not bothering to look up from his work.

Why sir.? Adi asked instantly, only to be greeted by MSK's deathly glare. Getting his answer he simply nodded and backed away to walk out of the room.

And mind it Adi, she should not know about it before hand. Ask her to report here in an hour, and I want the papers ready by the time she comes here. Am I clear.? He repeated each of his words clearly.

Yes Sir. Adi nodded and left the room shocked at the sudden turn of events. Maan immersed himself in his work, not bothering to reconsider his decision for a second, while the entire office was in panic hearing Maan calling of the 3 year old pact with the Singhania's who happened to be the most frequent clients.

As afternoon came by, the atmosphere of Khurana Constructions was tense as all eyes were glued to Maan's cabin. The moment Nisha entered the cabin, the atmosphere invariably became tense as no one could imagine what would be the outcome of Maan's actions. Geet entered KC, to see the hustle bustle in the office. Everyone greeted her politely, knowing exactly who she was, which just made Geet all the more conscious. As she walked towards Maan cabin, the tense atmosphere scared her a bit. Her thoughts instantly went back to the previous night, was this the result of her words.? With slow steps she walked towards his cabin, to be shocked to see the occupants inside. Her insides flared with anger, seeing Nisha inside Maan's cabin despite everything that happened the previous day. Disgust ran though her veins as she remembered the events at the party. Her heart broke into pieces, as she stood there thinking of her next step. All she wanted to do was to run away, leaving the lunch with someone. Tears clouded her eyes, as she glanced once more towards the cabin, where she saw Nisha standing close to Maan. Tormented, Geet turned away from the cabin, walking away from the place towards the staff area. She walked through the staff area and stopped a peon ordering him to give the parcel to Maan once he is free. Feeling dejected, Geet walked towards the exit only to bump into someone on her way. Just as she was about to apologize, she looked at the person in front of her fuelling her already burning insides. Anger gushed through her, from the crown of her head to the back of her heels as she saw Nisha standing in front of her with the same arrogance like the previous night. Controlling herself, Geet decided to walk past Nisha, just as she started to walk past her moving a few steps ahead she was yanked back by her end of her saree, tearing the corner of her blouse. The staff gasped in shock, seeing the sight in front of them, as no one had a clue of the cold war between the 2 ladies. Just as Nisha was about to open her mouth, the office boomed with the echo of a piercing sound as Nisha stood rooted at her place, with her hand stuck to her cheek with the intensity with which Geet slapped her, her eyes red with rage and anger. Everything happened in a matter of seconds, the moment Geet realized what Nisha did, the thread of her patience broke and without any further thinking she slapped Nisha across her face in front of the office.

HOW DARE YOU.? YOU B*****.!! Nisha screamed, only to be shut by another slap from Geet.

SHUT UP.! Were the only words Geet spoke, before walking out of the area, humiliated by the scene Nisha created. Maan who was in his cabin dashed out hearing the noises. The moment he came out, he encountered a fuming Nisha, staring at the lift with her hand on her cheek while the staff stood in pin drop silence, no one daring to utter a single word.

What's happening.? Nisha, didn't I ask you to leave without creating any scene, then why are you still here.? Leave right now.! He barked with anger eying Adi simultaneously. The look on Adi's face clearly indicated something did happen in his absence.

Adi, what's happening.? Maan asked Adi in serious tone.

Sir, ac...ac...actually... He hesitated, infuriating Maan all the way more.

What happened Adi.?

Sir, actually Geet Ma'am and Nisha Ma'am... Adi began explaining, before he could complain Maan dashed towards him and the next second he was right in front of his face.

Geet was here.? Where is she now.? Maan asked Adi, frantically. By the look on Nisha's face, he was positive something happened yet again between the two.

Sir, she left as Nisha Ma'am.. Adi spoke. The moment the words reached Maan's ears, he ran towards the lift but to his dismay it was nearly there on the basement, towards the parking lot. Maan, sprinted down the stairs taking them two at a time. Panting, he reached the parking lot and saw Geet walking away from the lift.

Geet.! He called out, but all he got was her cold response as she kept walking towards the car. He kept calling her, although she ignored him. Just as she was about to near the car, he grabbed her by her hand harshly dragging her to a corner and pinned her against the wall in a secluded corner, where they would be away from anyone's sight.

Geet, listen to me.! He said, his face inches away from hers. Geet looked at him nervously, confused by his behavior, and nodded blankly. His closeness, was taking over her as she stood nervously between him and the wall unable to move anywhere.

Geet.? Are you listening.? He asked shaking her. The jerk with which he shook her, loosened her grip on her torn saree and it smoothly slid down her body exposing her front to him. Geet stared at him numb, not realizing she was almost bare. Maan trembled with anger, as he saw her torn blouse and saree, knocking him out of his self control. He looked at Geet, who was simply looking at him, still unaware of herself. Hesitantly, he left her hands grabbing the end of the saree to bring it back to place. As he did, his hand brushed across her bare stomach, bringing Geet out of her trance. It was as if someone electrocuted her out her trance.! Geet, held the cloth closer to herself, looking down in embarrassment.

Geet, are you okay.? He said unsure about her behavior, backing away from her giving her the required space. She nodded with her head hung low, making him restless. Just as she was about to leave, he stopped her by his words.

Geet, listen to me first. Whatever you saw upstairs please don't start working up your mind on it. I simply called her to cancel her contract with KC. I cannot work with her after what happened at the party. He said in a calm voice, stopping her in her tracks. She looked back at him with tearful eyes, as Nisha's actions came back to her. Unable to hold on, she ran into him crushing her to himself, hugging him by his waist and sobbed like a baby with uncontrollable tears streaming down her eyes.

Why...is...she...after me..? What have I done.? She asked him innocently, still clinging to him. Her constant tears, unknowingly pierced something in his heart. Unbelievably to his own surprise and shock, he could not take them and he simply wrapped his arms around her soothing her aching heart. Neither of them knew, what they were doing, but they simply stood there holding on to each other, while one sobbed endlessly and the other stood there absorbing the pain.
