This boy possesses the conventional good looks and is all set to make an entry into the soap operas. As the new show Qayamath airs, 22-year-old Jay Bhanushali prepares himself for stardom and hopes to become a household name soon.
After working for a short span in the ad world and being associated with some prominent brands, Jay is all set to play a happy-go-lucky character Neev in the new serial. "Neev is similar to what I am in real life, but I don't have the traits of a casanova."
With every second serial based on a love story, what's different about this one? "This is a romance between two very young people." But Kasauti zindagi kay and Kahin to hoga have been based on the same themes. "This one's different because of its freshness and appeal," Jay insists. "Moreover I'm excited to share screen space with established actors like Mohnish Behl and Shabbir Ahluwalia. He is unperturbed on realising that his plunge in the soap operas implies that he'll have to portray a father and grandfather figure when the serial takes a leap. "Well, the mere idea of playing an elderly character at my age leaves the adrenaline pumping, I can't wait to do that," he explains.
Jay says that the K-sagas are not losing their charm. "There is a target audience we cater to and the serials are receiving accolades from them." Not afraid to be typecast, he concludes, "It's too early to comment, I want my work to be noticed. I am not interested in starting my career with any pre-conceived notions," he emphasises.
