Chapter 54

Whats' Maan holding in his arms ? Mannat...no no she is not Mannat. How can be ? Just couple of days back Mannat's identity was different. A 5 year old little girl ful of life .Full of attitude..who never want any interference in her works. She loved to do what she wants..Who had everything except her Papa.Even some where Mannat had compromised with circumstances. She has stopped expecting for her Papa

Then whats identity of this almost lifeless girl ? She looks alike Mannat. Her name is Mannat too.But she has her Papa..Even when she not expected she got him suddenly but on the cost of everything she had .She has Papa but has no words to speak 'Mere Papa'

Many times Maan tried to make her conscious fully but no effect. But she hadn't any control over her nervous system.Her head got tilted to one side. 'Mannat you are Papa's brave girl...haina beta...I know you can hear me...You have too...listen to me' Maan begged...tears rolled down his face making a streak with the wetness.

Suddenly a ward boy tapped his shoulder from behind.'Mr Khuraana Dr Khanna wanna met you' he almost whispered near his to ear .

Maan nodded his head.Ward boy left saying this.He carefully placed Mannat back on bed..Looked around Rehaan and Geet both were in sound sleep. But Mannat she was almost in coma.

Tiptoed he came outside.Where Rano was sitting on sofa resting her head over sofa back and closed eyes.

'Maa' Maan jerked her hand slowly .

Her eyes were closed but she was not in sleep.How could she be.She got up with a jerk from seat.'Maan hosh aa gaya Mannat ko beta' with hope filled eyes she questioned

'Nahi abhi nahi...just a hop is there for that moment Maa..'...He sighed...'How ever Maa plz go to room.Geet is sleeping.Some body should be there.Doctor called me to discuss some matter.I am going there.So u plzzz go...'

' K Beta ...aap jaayo ..don worry' She rolled her hand over his cheek and both left to opposite ways

In Dr Khanna's Cabin

As usual much scared of Maan Dr. Khanna was waiting for him to discuss the progress in Mannat's case.

Somene knocked at door.

'May I come in Dr. ?' Maan asked

'Mr. Khuraana plz come I was waiting for you'placing reports on table he got up from his seat.

'Dr. you wanted to meet me .Whats matter.?' Maan questioned looking toward reports on his desk 'If I m not wrong those r Mannat's reports'

'Yes Mr. Khuraana...you are rite'...He sighed...'I know you are too much angry on me.But Mr. Khuraana believe me ...Nothing I did intentionally.I am a doctor .To give life is my moto not to take away' Dr.said with too much guilt inside him

' Dr. Khanna reality is reality can't be changed.But now my mind is not in position to think any thing else than My Daughter.So its better you tell me whats progress in her case '

'Right Mr Khuranna...Its clear from her reports.Her mental state is perfectly fine...But there is damage to her nervous system...Most probably the lower body parts got affected more.' Hesitatingly he said

'What you mean lower body part ?' frustrated he repeated Dr. words

'I am afraid she ll hav to be on wheel chair ' he disclosed the real fear.

' what !!! ' he grabbed doctor from collar 'you mean to say my daughter gonna spend a disabled life...You know what it means...I will not let you live...You hav no rite' he jerked him many times.

Some thing like this could happen.Geet was aware of it.When her mother told about Maan's meeting with doctor .So she chased him to doctor's cabin

It was shocking for her to see Maan giving jerks to Doctor.

'Maan leave him' she tried to free doctor 'I say leave him'

'Geet just go away from here.He snatched away my child's life He has no rite to live too' he was almost out of his mind.Not able to think whats right or wrong .

In a jiffy a slap echoed in room.Who slapped whom ? Non other than Geet.She slapped Maan to make him aware what he was doing .To bring him back to senses'Have you gone mad..He is doctor not any criminal..Look at me I am mother...Mere se jayada kon dukhi hoga...I m dying bit by bit...You can't even think how painful it always be for a mother to find own child struggling for life.' She jerked Maan grabbing him from shoulders. Geet falls down on floor bitterly crying.

'Geet plz forgive me...But don take much stress...Challo uth' he helped Geet to get up from floor 'nd Dr. Khanna I also apologize to you' Maan was feeling guilty what he did

'no need to say this some where you are right...for Mannat you all have to be strong' Dr. Khanna said

'Strong ..What my strength can do Doctor. Can't bring back My daughter's childhood' Geet was sobbing saying this .Was too hard for her to say some thing

'Its only both of you Who can make her feel that she gonna be alright soon.You hav to keep your will power high too keep her spirits high.If she is mentally strong wonders can happen.' Dr. cleared

'Dr. we will do every thing what we can do aur agar mujhe Mannat ko out of India bhi le janna padda.I will take her for treatment.' Maan said

'Mr. Khuraana...Plz don think that I thinking things lightly..No Mr. Khuraana...I have discussed this case with top most specialists we have in this world. Every one has same opinion if surgery is a way we have to wait .Coz Mannat is just five and weak .Not good for her at this stage'

'Then it means meri Mannat aise he rahegi' totally shattered mother questioned

'Mrs. Khuraana plz don't be such depressed .Its true for surgical treatment we have to wait...Its also possible uski zaroorat na he padde...For everything patience is much required.' Dr explained.

'Dr. everything matters if she regains her senses back.She is mentally stable then Why she is still unconscious' Maan interrupted.

'She is out of coma now Mr Khuraana ...that's big thing ...let her recover' Dr. Khanna said

This conversation was still in progress when Nurse informed about Mannat.She was recovering and awake now.So all ran toward room...A Junior Dr. Sharma was examining Mannat. Taking awake Rehann in her lap Rano was curiously waiting for some good news .

'Dr. Sharma hows she ?' Entering room Dr. Khanna questioned

'She is awake but not responding properly' Dr Sharma said in low tone .

Geet hurriedly reached near Mannat side

'Mannat dekho beta Mommi...look at me baby Mommi is here..' taking Mannat's face in her hands Geet cried.But suddenly Dr.words echoed in her mind to be strong.So she wiped her tears with one hand.

'Aur dekho Nani bhi hai...apka bhai dekho Rehaan bhi yahi hai ...Mannya dekho beta' Rano made Rehaan sit on one side of Mannat's bed.

Mannat blinked her eyes. Looked around her .Her mother Nani brother But she was just glaring Maan now .

Maan still in guilt .Taking himself responsible for everything .He had no courage to face little girl.But some how he took few steps forward.

She tried to raise her tiny finger but failed.Wht was running in her mind ?Whether she wanted Maan around her or didn't want him any more.Only she knew.

'Mannat I know beta you want to say some thing .Bolo beta bolo ' Maan requested.

All looked at him than toward Mannat.There was some silent interaction between Mannat n Maan which only Maan could understand.

'How you know she wanna say some thing ? ' Surprised Geet said

'Her eyes speaks a lot...I know she wanna say some thing .Even you not noticed Geet she tried to raise her hand '

'Plz let her take some rest . Don stress her more .She is recovering but if its slow no need to worry.This is good sign .It means not much stress on her mind' Dr. Khanna cleared.

Every one got up from bed.Geet n Rehaan both were just observing Mannat even they were sitting on other bed next to Mannat's. Rano went out to call Daddi Maa telling her about Mannat's recovery.

The silence between both Maan and Mannat were still on.He thought for a while some thing.

'Geet I will be back in 10 minutes. Dr. Khanna se mil kar aata hu' Geet nodded at this and he leaves room.

In Dr Khanna's Cabin

'Dr. Khanna I hav decided some thing .Just came here to inform you' Maan said

'What Mr. Khuraana ?' Amazed Dr. said coz whats in Maan's mind no one can judge.

'Geet has recovered.In one day or two Rehaan gonna be discharged. But for Mannat..'

Before he could complete Dr interfered 'for Mannat..' Dr. repeated his words

'Main Mannat ko ghar le jaa raha hu .My daughter not gonna stay here. Make all required arrangements at my home. Even if anything is needed u can ask' Maan at last disclosed what was running in his mind.

'What Mr. Khuraana hows this possible.She is not well.Not in condition that we can discharge her '

'For how many days you gonna keep her here...No Dr. Khanna...Uska apna ghar hai..jisme uske apne hongy uske sath...Aur meri Mannat k 'MERE PAPA MAAN' wo theek hogi usko theek hona he hoga 'with hope filled eyes Maan said

'Mere Papa Maan what it means ? ' confused Dr. repeated hesitatingly

' U can't understand even no one can understand except Mannat what these words mean for her' he smiled thinking about Mannat's own version of relations which he never understood 'How ever I don wanna say any thing more plz do what I asked u' he wiped his wet eyes and left .
