"I started off well saying that I wasn't too sure if many people in the audience knew me. But later I forgot to acknowledge so many people who had made a difference to my short career so far, including Quadri saab himself. Later I did cover up while addressing the media but I guess I need to be better at delivering 'Thank You' speeches," he said in jocular veins. This 21-year-old did expect the award but don't know how to describe his actual feeling on getting his first award. Everybody including lyricist Sayeed Quadri told him that he would bag the award but he never took it literally till the award was in his hands. He said that he did not prepare 'Thank You' speech, as he believed that awards would last only for a day like other people had said. He added that he realized how big the day was only when the real moment came. So, is he expecting more awards to come his way in the days to come? "Let me just cherish this award for the moment. At the moment I have no clue if I am getting any more awards. But yes, if they come nothing better than that. By God's grace, I have been able to do good work so far. Hope I live up to everyone's expectations in years to come," he said. |
