Disclaimer - Not a WU 😳

JALAL-AMERIS
2 days I've not laid eyes on this poor Jalal and he's suddenly looking so sunken and disheartened (well at least in this scene lol😆!)...I however, loved how he praised the brothers when he said 'I know that you brothers don't require any help from me in handling your affairs of the state...I've seen your prowess in the battle against Sujanpur!' (yup bow+4 arrows = enemy khatam!)

Another point - the brothers had time to meet Shehenshah but no time to meet JodhađŸ€”...(ermmm one could have gone to meet Ja while the other Jo right?) anyway that's possibly the multi-tasker in me suggesting this! All this realism is not going to allow for escalating drama between Ja-Jo!

JALAL-JODHA
Jalal (in a dashing orange kurta) is practising with his sword against the skills of one particular guard - the rest of his guards flanking him on all sides.
When he's embroiled in the beauty of the art, swinging and pouncing about- he ends up having his hand gashed by the person he was practising with. The humble soldier immediately places his weapon down and asks for an apology.
However, Jalal stands over the modest guard proudly - sweat trickling down his face - his brown hair dishevelled 'Pick up your sword...its soldiers like you that our army needs...our forces will remain strong and undefeated'
The man does as told.

Just then, Jodha walks in. Her eyes were stern 'I want to have a word with you Shehenshah'
'Takhliya' the sceptical Emperor orders, as he resumes his practise

The pleasantness on his face now long gone, Jalal remarks 'You have this certain habit, don't you?Any time that I'm engrossed in something important, you have to interfere!'
'What about your habit' Jodha quips in return 'To promise one thing and do another' she pauses 'You stated you'd send me back to Amer...and now, you've sent my brothers back without me'
Jalal is forced to stop and pay heed, as she ends her question 'Why this two-faced behaviour?'

Heaving due to the sport (and possibly due to her baseless blames) Jalal justifies himself 'Have you realized that just like I do, you tend to assume things without listening to the entire matter...I'd advised your brothers to meet you before leaving, but they had no time for it! A message arrived from your father that a rebellion has broken out in Amer- the scroll clearly asked them to leave for Amer as soon as possible, so they left...and as far as your issue is concerned...' he lunges forward with the sword now at her neck - more of a playful tussle than anything 'As far as your issue is concerned, I've made arrangements for your return to Amer'
'May I know what they are' she asks unmoved
'You'll get to know about it when the time comes'
'I feel suffocated here...I don't want to stay back...'
He looks at her with indifference 'I'm in no mood to stop you either!'
At this point - by chance - Jodha notices the blood dripping from his hand. He in turn notices her noticing him.

Taking him by surprise, Jodha rushes to a tulsi plant nearby, picks up some wet mud from it and returns to him. Grabbing his wrist with the least emotion in her eyes, Jodha rubs the wet mud on his grazed hand.
'The reason for this show of gratitude?' he asks her mildly surprised
'I consider tending to a wounded person as a part of my duty...one doesn't search for reasoning here' she explains very matter-of-factly
'But..I never asked you to nurse this wound'
'EVERYTHING need not be explained...somethings can be understood through common sense too! At this moment you're not my Shehenshah...but, a wounded man standing in front!'

'Wow!' he utters 'My wound of hatred has been treated with a dressing of love!' he pauses 'I like it!'

The impulsive king then goes ahead to test her. Picking up his sword, he makes another cut in his other palm. 'Now I've hurt myself in this palm...I stand wounded in front of you..wouldn't you do your duty...wouldn't you dress this wound?'
Letting out an irked sigh, she walks away from his presence - not a word in reply!

MA
All those of you who're tired of watching MA in her whitebedsheet avtaar are blessed with a new avtaar of her's - that of a banjaran...I realize the CVs have directed a few unconvincing episodes and are desperately attempting to make up for it. What follows is a very detailed back story about how MA met her hamshakal in the past and how she used that lady every now and again when she needed her services! Well...what do I say other than let's at least give it to them for trying!
RIP Laakhi (the MA hamshakal)!
Now Adham has a new complaint - Ammijaan praises Laakhi more than she praises me! Lol...what a disgruntled child you are!

Ruqlal
Ruqaiyya has obviously moved to greener pastures - Meena bazaar gossip is more tantalizing than the MC kaand

Anyway, when Jalal walks in to her chamber with a cordial smile, he was obviously hoping that his wife would have lit the Hukkah and kept it all ready for him. However, watching the game of ludo in front, he knew that wasn't the case. Adding to his disappointment, Ruqaiyya tells him that she has something important for him - and follows it up by informing him about the 'Meena Bazaar'
The emperor is now obviously bored AND disappointed!

'What am I to do about it' he asks with little interest
'Well the Meena Bazaar IS FOR YOU' she reminds him 'Everything we display there, is to attract your attention...to please you'
She then goes on to gloat about how her wares would stand out as always this time too. She piques his curiosity about her surprise and then leaves him hanging dry by boasting 'You'll appreciate the true beauty of moonlight only when you see it amidst the stars! All begums will be there...except for'
'Except for?' he questions
'Ha!' Ruqaiyya comments 'You have no interest in those who wait for you...you're interested only in the one person who doesn't do so'
'Stop with the riddles now...who is it?'
'Jodha Begum'
'No way...every year the Harem Begums...participate in this event' he frowns
'She's breaking no law'
'She's breaking the Harem traditions' Jalal is so not-impressed!
'You were the one who allowed her to follow her own rules...her own traditions!'
Jalal is momentarily tongue-tied. He looks away 'Because its offensive for a Begum to NOT make any attempt to please her Shehenshah...and I will not tolerate this!' He begins leaving
'Where are you off to?'
'To meet Begum Jodha' he pauses 'Possibly for a last time'
Ruqaiyya is shocked by his last statement, but Jalal explains everything to her.
The curious queen asks finally 'If you are going to send her away anyway, then why compel her to do this now?'
He smiles heartily 'Because she's still here and as long as she's here she listens to me!'

JALAL-JODHA
'Jodha Begum, you'd promised me that as long as you were here, you'd listen to the rules and regulations here...then why the decision of not participating in Meena Bazaar?'
'Why...you were the one who told me that you'd place no compulsion on a guest...' she retorts 'And today, yet again...this?'
'Don't forget that you're still my Begum now..once you return to Amer, you can do as you please..but here you do as I wish...'
'If I have to leave in two days time, why do I have to follow these traditions now? What do I gain out of it?'
'Its not about gain or loss...its about the fact that the Mughal Sultanat rules don't permit a Begum to answer back to her Shehenshah...Every Begum participates in this Bazaar and I want you to do the same...' he is about to depart - but turns back 'And till you're here I want none to know of your return to Amer'

Once Jalal leaves her to her solitude, Jodha decides to stay defiant - she wants nothing to do with his dominating attitude!

loved AkDha today. tom is going to be a fun , while Jodha lecturing Jalal on importance of colours, and Jalal trying to understand the meaning of her words.

anyway, am I right to think he was hurt when Ruku told him abt Jodha not participating in Meena Bazaar. and that hurt is not hatred for her but it's of he doesn't know how to stop her from hating him...

Goodbye rona dhona,, the sherni is back.. Looks like she is gonna give him some lessons now in the Meena Bazaar..

I feel Jalal is far more understanding when it comes to Jodha.. He can sense that she feels for him deep down.. Jodha is still under the illusion that he hates her.

I loved Jalal pointing out to Jodha that she too has the trait like him of coming to a conclusion without getting all the facts first đŸ‘đŸ€Ł
Yeah.. it was tu tu main main.. between them... Wonder what will get them out of this phase they are in.. 😕.. Will the suicide attempt do the trick?? 😕
