Skepblun,
Your last post on differences between G & Sa are the exact difference Sumitra calculates in her mind. And that's why on surface level she prefers Sa over G any day. And nothing wrong if that's her choice. She never went to Shekhars to beg that please give your daughter's hand for my son. They came with a proposal and she accepted it with open arms.

Even on a deeper level, as per Sumitra, Sa will keep J happy in every way. Sa is from a well cultured family, who is now even adjusting to Singhs requirements. Sa adds a nice flavour to J's life. So what makes G any better than Sa as per Sumitra? In fact G has been more like someone who feeds on them and returns her gratitude by working in the household. G never reflected any distinctive characteristic of a would-be DIL. And Sumi has never seen her in that and neither does she want to, due to G's background.

Just not liking G and loving Sa, does not make Sumitra bad.

It's unfair to expect that Sumi should love G just because she is nice hearted.

It's 2 things;
- SaJa was never compatible even if G was not in picture
- And Sumi would have never accepted G as her bahu even if Sa was not in picture.

So Sumi has her own stand, and it is right as long as J is committed to Sa. But since it is J's life, he needs to make his decision.

I support J for what he is doing but can't blame Sumi for her anger on J or for suspecting G as an indirect reason for this break up. In the past 6 months J never told anyone that he is not happy with Sa, so a sudden decision does not make sense.

Let's wait to see how Sumi reacts on knowing Sa's truth. if she still blames J then I will not defend her actions, because then she (Sumi) would be wrong. Until then, to me, Sumi's reactions / actions are justified.

Agreed !
Lets wait and see how Sumi feels once Sa's reality comes out to Sumi. And not in part - full disclosure - incl pandit bribe.

I also want all of Anandi's disclosures to happen in front of Sumi. Let Sumi see - that Anandi was aware of the rishta proposal but never bothered to warn earlier, never bothered to clarify later (one weak attempt in the kitchen at saying - but they r from diff backgrounds - does not really count) and was aware of Sanchi's pandit bribing and did over hear Sanchi's pizza talk but still did not call Sumi to share.

If you can't share with your mom - who can you share with ?

to me sumitra's hurt, pain & helplessness all is justified...but her recent hyper reactions & shouting on top her voice seems completely out of character ! she could have been shown expressing her disgust in subtle way as she did in the past !

@Missesha

I know what differences Sumitra calculates in her mind. I never said I wanted Sumitra to love Ganga. But what I am bothered about is her blind faith on Sanchi, over-zealousness to please Shekhars and lack of trust on Jagya. She also uses Anandi's name to be able to grab this opportunity in form of Sanchi.

The reasons you gave for Sumitra disliking Ganga are valid and logical. But I disagree that Ganga never showed any distinctive quality to be DIL. She is the only person after Anandi who was ready to risk her own life to save someone from Singh family. Her other skills and attributes like understanding, negotiating etc. are also assets that Sanchi does not have. She is also able to take a firm stance when required - a quality that Sumi never had herself when she was Ganga's age.

Sumitra might be convinced about Sanchi. But she had no right to force this alliance on Jagya despite his saying he'd never looked at Sanchi in that light! She was not justified in forcing him and blackmailing him using Anandi's name. When she has known all her life what are the disastrous results of forced marriages then why still commit the same mistake again? 😲

She never went to beg Shekhars for this. But she could NOT pressurise Jagya to accept this at once - which she did!
She may be convinced about it. But what's the use if Jagya is not?

Jagya always disliked Sanchi and got irritated by her. It's not like he developed dislike for her only after Ganga came in his life and house.

Sumitra is not justified in her lack of trust or shame at Jagya nor is she justified in pushing him to Shekhars or claiming she knows him well, he can't live without Sanchi etc.!

Rather with her dialogues that day it seemed as if she tried to cheat Ira ji by convincing how much Jagya "loved" Sanchi. I call it cheating because deep down she suspects Jagya is under Ganga's influence! So why bark this? Why mislead others?

Today she said she was ashamed of Jagya and barked about giving too much freedom to him. The way she said maine kaha tha seemed like she was blaming others and washing her own hands off him!

Did she forget how she herself used to hide his mistakes in childhood? How she'd stop Bhairon from scolding or disciplining him? How she herself never had any clue of what Jagya was upto?!
She cannot blame only others for giving freedom to him!

I have problems with her attitude towards Jagya. Forget Ganga or others!

What right does she have to blame only him for sorrows when she herself was at fault for being a useless parent?!

If she thinks he is not trustworthy, only brings shame and sorrow then why does she want him to remarry and ruin another woman's life?! Why was she always pining for him to come back if she was so ashamed of him?

Was her behaviour of care towards him after his return, only a farce? Does it mean she does not trust him? He has not redeemed himself in her eyes?

Why doesn't she give him a chance to speak his side of the story?

Would she even believe him or would it need Anandi's validation to make her believe Jagya is telling the truth?!

Sumitra will not budge from barking till Anandi confirms her reservations with this rishta and tells her Sanchi's truth. Her so called love for Jagya is a farce. She's only possessive of him and he's good for her only till the time he obeys her or adheres to her choices.

And she is an irresponsible mother who is now washing her hands off her son and letting out frustration of her own failure as a mother by lashing out at her son.

Even she can't deny she forced Jagya to agree to this alliance.

She is desperate for young, rich, virgin, educated bride Sanchi so she is ignoring all her misbehaviour of past also. And she's being foolish enough to think that wearing Indian dress or serving guests once is a sign of her adjusting nature or new found maturity.

To be honest I don't know how you're assuming Esha that I find Sumitra bad because she prefers Sanchi over Ganga. I never mentioned Ganga in the first post of this topic! There are more and worse things to Sumitra than her behaviour towards Ganga.

I don't know why this Ganga vs Sanchi debate is happening here!

Hey no, I haven't assumed you find Sumi bad or anything. I know there was no mention of G on your post.
I had actually stated my general views about Sumitra and why I find her reactions reasonable, in agreement to another member's post. But then I got quoted saying that Sumitra was keen on virgin brides etc... so it started from there and continued...

I enjoy reading your posts, even if we are not on same page 😊

I can understand her fear about danger to her family .

But today she spilled her thoughts ...that Ganga , bcoz she is no virgin , is 'experienced' enough to make men dance on her fingers . She , it , seems , controls Jagya from there .

Clear cut thoughts shown . A woman who has experienced sex has the capability to be s**tty while a virgin is pure and innocent .

Sumitra's thoughts . Shown in the serial .

@Bold
If that's Sumitra's line of thinking then I'm incredibly disappointed at her. How exactly does the forced rapes Ganga had to undergo make her an expert on sex and therefore s**tty?
Seeing as how Saanchi the pure virgin is more interested in entering a physical relationship than her two-time divorcee and therefore worthless ( in her mind atleast) son her entire thought process is not only infuriating, illogical- it is also WRONG
