The queen of soaps,ekta kapoor is widening her horizons by moving on from saas bhau sagas to much bolder themes now.She is all set to produce her most expensive thriller,tentatively titled guns and roses, for star plus this year.The serial is based on the growing blue films business.Revealing more about this serial Ekta says," I was planning to make this serial for quite some time now but the time was not right then, but i guess now its the right time for us to show the audiences subjects which are much closer to reality.The serial deals with the struggle of a young boy to expose those who are involved in this dirty business.Its not a cheap show at all.It is being planned in a way that it captures the eyeballs of all ages and the treatment that is being given to this serial is unique.The concept is powerful and has the potential to cater a lot of viewership. It should go on air by september and will take the weekend slots".Speaking about the starcast ekta comments,"no one has been finalized yet but i really want raza murad to play the villian in the show, who runs this business.As for the leads,i want two newcomers who do not have certain image set in the minds of the viewers.Needless to say it will have some hot steamy scenes as the story requires it, but they will be shot very asthetically.Nivedita basu is handling the subject and some big bollywood writer will write the script.Morever i am going through a lot of known bollywood veterans who i want to be a part of this mega project."
Apart from this show ekta has some more projects lined up in the pipeline this year."Im coming with a new show kayamth this week starring shabbir ahluwalia,newcomer jay bhattacharya and kitni mast hai zindagi starrer panchi bora.I also have two new shows each for sahara one and sab tv but they are in their initial stages.I also have a new show kasturi for star that is being delayed for the last 8 months.The entire script has been reworked and many original people from the cast including rajat bedi,ratti agnihotri,pallavi kulkarni have walked out of the serial.The serial is scheduled to air from may this year but is yet to be supervised,as sammer nair is leaving the channel and the new head has yet to come and deal with the show.The only people of the original cast to remain in the serial are ritu deepak,sanjit bedi and shruti seth who is playing a cameo.After pallavis exit im still fishing for a female lead and as for the male lead, the show was offered to eijaz khan but he has backed out as he is taking a break from television and has his mind set seriously for bollywood this year.Therefore i am still looking for leads to star in this serial.My loyalist hiten will also play a cameo along with shruti."
