manav rachna

Shakti - strength

Samarthya - capability

Charitra - character

And the sum of these makes the bhavishya ( future )

Devavrata became Bheeshma

And got the vardaan of Ichcha Mrityu

He will be the master of his own death

His charitra has shaped his bhavishya

Satyavati in her quest for ensuring her sons' future forgot to prepare them for it

So Vichitravirya has his future ensured as the king of hastinapur

But has neither the shakti, nor the samarthya and certainly not the charitra required for it

That has made him weak and complacent

We also met Amba - who believes that samarthya is everything

And there is no right or wrong

There is only can and can't

Samarthya must never be diluted with aparadh.

A woman strong, ruthless and brazen !

Krishna's question :

What do parents want for their children?

A secure future

And in their focus on ensuing the future

They neglect the present

And do not build their children's character

Which damages their future !

True it was then

True it is today!

Krishna's gyan : build charitra, samarthya and shakti

Bhavishya will take care of itself

parents are like potters, and children the mitti

To make a perfect pot that is beautiful and sturdy

You need to shape it Spin it, bake it

Kabhi gently, kabhi firmly

Fast paced epi

A bit too loud for my taste

Could be a little mellow

**Am beginning to warm up to the Krishna sutradhaar... Laugh at me, but the act reminds me of olden days Ashok Kumar in whatever ws that serial called Hum Log?? 😆

**Sorry Arshi, I dont think this PH does mellow...😳
Long ago there used to be another show called Chanakya, I remember it fondly for their period aesthetics that were never garish, they had a lot of detail as well, but quite tasteful, if I remember right... This show on the other hand, has an enormous budget but a nouveau-riche sort of flavour to its aesthetics...

**Still they could have stretched their budget to hire a better and fitter actor for Devavrat/Bhishma... This guy doesnt work, IMHO 😔 Along with Karna, he is one of the true heroes of this epic, and I wish they'd paid more attention to the casting.

**The pace at which the story is moving is nothing short of breakneck... We just saw Santanu and now he is dead and gone is he? At this rate, we'll never get into any character properly until the last generation, perhaps!

true happychappy

the essence of Mahabharat, of complex characters, of motives, choices, conflicts - we get none of that. just a lot of glitz

Agree on Bheeshma, I am hoping that he will be good as the really old pitamah.

This cut to cut thing narrative style didnt work well with me

That's well constructed, that review. I am with you on the rating as well!

I liked tonight's episode because you just cannot dislike Bhisma, whoever's playing him. The actor's doing a nice job. And who stole the show? Krishna did. Every word he said made perfect, perfect sense and my mother was so impressed and in awe. She turned to my brother and looked at him expectantly but he didn't understand a thing. 😆 But if they are going to give out such messages at the end of every episode, man, it'd be awesome!

True, Krishna's gyan at the end is well done. He summarizes the episode nicely

But Bheeshma - I am holding my opinion on that, till now I am not too impressed

Liked the female cast, even Amba was impressive today

Disappointing episode Arshi.
The sets are fake and ten characters are loud

The acting over dramatic

I rate it 5/10

Hmm, not so bad surely

The acting style is Ramleela style

Seen in all mythologicals

Yes it all could be toned down and all the loud bachdrops take away from the scenes instead of adding to them .

That is true

arshiji I have a question about satyavathi.
yesterday I found many posts and reviews criticizing the way satyawathi character was portrayed.satyavathi's character was different in brc mahabarath and lot of us grew up watching it.
I still remember my grandma saying that it's not satyavathi's father but it was styavathi who put the conditions to shanthanu.today when I google about her it says in some versions it was actually satyavathi who was assured the inheritance of throne to her progeny. any idea about that?
Krishna part was good. it was a great idea (nayi soch). 👏 good way to teach the morals.
nice cb.
