It sure looks like based on Guls story telling that it does happen. Nobody wants to accept the fallacies of their religion and it looks like Gul is pointing to those.

Nah, it was invalid. There were two main reasons for the marriage to be void.

First, Zoya's father's name was not correct. And for the fulfilment of Nikah it is one of the most important ingredient that full names of both bride and groom and their full father's names too should be pronounced correctly. If they are not true then marriage is invalid.

And Secondly, if you are talking to someone else and responding to him rather than maulvi and responds to him in yes rather than maulvi then it doesn't mean Nikah happened.
There is no concept of accidental Nikah in Islam.

No one should take liberties like this under the guise of cinematic license or for dramatic effect . It is an incorrect message being sent out to the masses who are glued to TV channels and may take this as the truth !
