Jalaal Part 1.
He hates Jodha's guts , her defiance, her refusal, her abuse, her complete shredding of Mughal rules and a Mughal wife. Yet...he remembers small things like her reminding him that mojris are not to be brought into the Pooja Greh. He takes off his mojris and patiently waits for the same Gustaakh Shehzaadi Begum to complete her worship.
Jodha Part 1:
She could actually put Jalaal into a lion's mouth right now and stitch the lion's mouth. He has devastated her beyond repair. Yet , she cannot get over the 'INJURY&HURT' that Jalaal has caused her. Yet, she lovingly tells Raheem , defending Jalaal's love for him. To her, he is a monster, yet she has faith in his tender love for a boy who is not even his flesh and blood.
Jalaal Part 2 :
He drinks down the venom of Jodha's hatred as she rudely tells him to get lost , breaks glasses in front of him to show her rage. Jalaal's king size ego feels horrible but not the need to apologize. Still riding on his ego unicorn he tells the Baandis to shift the broken glass pieces to his Khwaabgah. "Isska jawaab aapko zaroor milegaa." Apraadhbodh hai... galti hui hai, isska ehsaas bhi hai... lekin maafi maangnaa ab bhi na toh waajib lagtaa hai inkko aur na hi laazmee.
Jodha Part 2:
Still burning in the hellish humiliation of " Nazarbandee by my khadoos patee" , she refuses to have even a civil conversation with him regarding the dibiyaa. She takes the whole conversation back to the beizzati-essay , forcing Jalaal to confess everything except getting an apology out of him. She wanted to break the glass in his face , but chose the floor...ye tantrum nahiin hai. Aur na sign of domestic violence hai...dard hai... kahiin na kahiin to niklegaa hi na?
Conclusion: Its not that JJ do not identify or recognize each-other good sides, but the pre-conditioned warpath , misunderstandings and the sense of hurt , injury and humiliation runs so deep , that they are caught in each-other'a labyrinth. It will take time , cooled temperatures and some divine intervention for them to at least get back for a peace treaty.
Having seen the precap , I can fully understand why Jalaal cannot even doubt Maaham , even if the world points a finger at her . Her very words with tears in her eyes - " Aapki badee Ammie, jinhone aapko doodh pilaaya hai."... gah! You would melt like a dollop of choco chip ice cream. The woman who risked her own life to keep him alive , the woman who protected Jalaal so much that there is no air left to breathe...how would you have the heart to suspect her?... Maa Maa hotee hai. Paida na bhi kiyaa ho, zindaa toh rakhaa... As for MA being the culprit or not , well, somethings in life are not black and white... there are twilight zones... Aur agar Maa hi aulaad ko zehar pilaa de, toh use kaun bachaa saktaa hai?
