Dilip Kumar hospitalised; admitted in ICU

He was rushed to the hospital after complaining of chest pains on Sunday evening

Bollywood veteran Dilip Kumar has been admitted to the Lilavati Hospital after he complained of chest pains yesterday evening.

A call was made from his Bandra home at 8 in the night and an ambulance promptly arrived and rushed the actor to the hospital where he is currently admitted in the Intensive Care Unit.

A close member of the family confirmed the health scare to Mirror, saying, "He complained of discomfort in his chest and it was decided that he should get immediate medical attention. The situation is not critical and the doctors are taking care of him."

The actor's wife Saira Banu is currently by his bedside. "Because of the festive season and the accompanying traffic it was decided that he should get admitted and stay in the constant supervision of doctors to prevent a major debacle. He will be there for at least 2-4 days," added the source.

A source in Lilavati hospital told us "He was brought in for a heart related problem. He is currently under the care of cardiologist Dr Nitin Ghokale and intensivist Dr Samad Ansari.
