"Jhalak has been a Dream-run for me" - Lauren Gottlieb
The very elegant, pretty and stunning Lauren Gottlieb, who is currently paving her way to the finals of Jhalak Dikh Laja season 6, gets candid with urlremoved about her experience on the show and lots more!
What has your experience been like on Jhalak Dikh Laga?
To be coming from a different country, entering such a unique competition and gaining a major fan base as well, has definitely been a lifetime experience for me, and trust me, I'm just loving it here. The different dance styles, different music, the people as well as dancing in front of the kathak and dancing diva Madhuri Dixit has all been a wonderful experience for me, and this is something I will never forget my entire life! Overall, I have to admit that Jhalak has been a Dream-run for me!
How has it been working with Punit?
I feel grateful for having had the chance to work with Punit, as this guy is just so good at dancing as well as coming up with a new concept every single time! He is an amazingly creative and innovative person who never likes to repeat something which has been done before and so he just manages to come up with the best of ideas which are so unique, for each of our performances! We've made people laugh as well as cry with each performance, and the chemistry that we created and which is seen on screen is one he has really helped me build on, and so overall it has been just great working with him.
How is Punit as a dancer and a person?
As a dancer, Punit is just fantastic and I'm sure you guys seeing him on TV will agree too! The way he dances as well as the way he has been trained is completely different from the way I dance and have been trained, but somehow he very easily got used to the way I dance and adapted to my style and in the process, I too eventually adapted to his style which has definitely got out the best from us both! As a person, Punit is great, and I really have to thank him for being patient with me and getting me to adapt to the dancing styles and music out here. His family too has been really supportive of me and now, I love them like my own family. His mom is someone who brings energy into me every time I see her! They are all really nice people and my family back home is thankful to them for all the love and support they have given me all the way long.
What has your rapport been like with all the contestants on the show?
I have to admit that even though the environment here has been very competitive since the beginning, there were never any negative vibes shared by any contestants on the show! Everyone who is and has been part of the show would agree with that too. I have had a great time here and everybody is really really sweet and very supportive of each other . "Like every time somebody is getting their scores all of us actually hope that they get the scores they desire as well as really cheer them on during their performance, and so there are a lot of fun unforgettable memories which will always be remembered by our big Jhalak family!".
Who is your favorite person from all the Jhalak contestants?
I bonded really well with Karanvir and Aarti throughout and have to say that they are fabulous dancers, whom I really miss! Also, Sonali has been like my daughter throughout this show and she is just unbelievable! I have to sit next her during all the performances, and we do have a lot of fun cheering for everybody. The little girl is just so amazing!! Other than that, I actually like everybody else too and have pretty much bonded well with them all.
Which celebrity guest visit has been your favorite till now?
That has to be Ranbir Kapoor who came in at the beginning and then towards the end. He is just so energetic and a lot of fun too! As everybody knows, he is the one who came up with the name "Lauren from foreign" and now everybody calls me by that name, which I just love!
Which team do you feel is your biggest competitor for the finals?
Well, I think that everybody is pretty good in their own way and so anybody can actually win! Sonali is an outstanding dancer, Shaan has transformed into a great dancer through this show, Drashti is also a very good dancer who has a huge fan base too, so there are a lot of factors each person is carrying with them and hence it could be just anybody for the win.
Any unforgettable memories during Jhalak?
The mask in the frame contemporary dance which Punit and I put up is something I will never in my life forget! MadhuriJi told me around 4-5 times that she just loves me and Remo sir actually came onto stage and bowed down to us and that just felt awesome! In terms of some fun memories, there was this one time in the Jhalak house, where Punit was eating his bowl of watermelon like he does every day, which I got bored of seeing and so I took the bowl from his hand and just started stuffing it into his mouth and couldn't stop laughing on watching his reaction to this! Everybody soon came out of their rooms and joined us in the fun, which was great!
Do you think you'll will take home the Jhalak trophy?
When I came in here, my ultimate goal was to inspire people through our dances, and so we have worked really hard to put up some of the best and maybe inspirational acts, and so after all this hard work, taking home the Jhalak trophy would just be awesome for us!
