Four biggies to release on Independence Day 2014; wholl blink first

The coming Independence Day is set to see one of the biggest box office clashes ever. Buzz is that Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi and Saif Ali Khan starrers are releasing that day at the box office, setting the stage for an unprecedented showdown.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gabbar starring Akshay, Kabir Khan's next with Saif Ali Khan, Rohit Shetty's Singham 2 with Ajay Devgn and Ekta-Karan's joint venture with Emraan and Kareena Kapoor, will have their first outing on the next Independence Day.

Interestingly, Ajay had called Ekta and offered to support her when Once Upon A Time Dobaara was not getting enough screens, owing to the Chennai Express juggernaut. However, this time, the two are all set to lock horns at the box office.

It's a known fact that big releases eat into one another's business when they compete at the ticket windows but the big question is who will blink first.

According to industry insiders, neither Bhansali nor Kabir Khan or Rohit Shetty usually move their release date once announced. So that leaves the ball in Karan's court who has previously moved his releases to accommodate requests from the film fraternity.
