The Harry Potter Lexicon has reportedly confirmed that the mysterious three initials in Half-Blood Prince is indeed --Regulus Arcturus Black--. We hadn't known his middle name until now which is defined as "the fourth brightest star in the sky and the brightest star in the constellation Botes, approximately 36 light-years from Earth."

Thanks to MuggleNet for the information!

Guys - this is just a rumor, and should be regarded as such till we get word from JKR.

R.A.B.
(HBP28)

Born: 1961?
Died: 1980

Regulus was the younger brother of Sirius Black. Regulus was favored by his parents because he shared their pureblood prejudices; soon after leaving Hogwarts, he joined the Death Eaters.

He is the mysterious 'R.A.B.' who stole the locket Horcrux. Regulus' middle name and
the fact that he is the infamous 'R.A.B.' were confirmed by a well-placed source 28 August, 2005.

This from http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizards/regulus.html
According to them its by a good source!

But if J.K Rowling makes any comment it will be a major spoiler. So I hope she keeps quiet about the RAB thing until the last book comes out so her fans can come up with more (crazy! 😛 ) theories!

I highly doubt Jo's going to let the cat out of the bag. She refused to tell Emerson and Melissa, I don't know why she'd change her mind. We'll just have to wait two (*groan*) years before we find out, won't we?

As for me, my mind immediately went to Regulus, but after a bit of thinking I felt it was a tad bit too obvious, and knowing JKR - you know, she doesn't like us to get things easily. But it could still be Regulus, you never know.

I wonder what "source" the HPL is talking about? Hmmm...

Well, I dont think HP Lexicon would post anything like that unless the source was a really GOOD one...

Perhaps its one of the publishers/employee of publishers? 😕

Anyway, I also hope Jo doesn't say anything yet. Everyone is going to come up with even more crazy theories, as Neha mentioned. 😆
