Kumud's wonderful saas =)

If Pramad is misbehaving, why does Kumud get the blame? She is supposed to follow every bloody ritual that her in-laws demand? I find it hilarious that Buddhidhan's wife has the audacity to apologize for her daughter-in-law when it's her and her son she should be apologizing for. You could tell she was embarrassed to the extreme, how does she think it feels when her son criticizes and physically abuses Kumud? You would think being a woman she could understand Kumud is still new to marriage and adjusting to a different life. She totally acted as if Kumud is from a bad family and unworthy of her darling son. Like when she told Buddhidhan Kumud should not have kept her past a secret from them, it is a lot less important than the garbage they all kept from her and her family.

Kumud is in a bad way altogether. If she plays the wife, her husband will inevitably feel angry. If she doesn't play one, his mother will. But you know what, SO many women in India have to put up with creeps like Pramad and worse that at least they are showing it in a realistic light. It's human to feel bad for your child, but when he becomes vindictive and out of control don't blame others. Noone should have to give up their dignity and peace of mind just for their convenience. Pramad's mother should get on her hands and knees and beg Kumud to forgive her for being so stupid.
