Here's a combined take on both these episodes because they go hand in hand. I don't know about you guys but I'm not a huge fan of the gaon scenes. I find them overtly melodramatic and high on EBM at times.

You know the one thing these episodes have reminded me of is a bandage. You know the type that you put on a cut? Why? Because the funny thing about a bandage is the way you remove it. If you rip it off, its sudden pain and then its gone. But if you try to do it slowly, bit by bit, it sticks to your skin and each little pull to get it off hurts more and more.

Very similar to Laajo's relation to Nikhil no?

His family wanted to get rid of her. Barkha wanted her out of the house immediately even if the divorce proceedings would take time. It was a major decision, a big one but with one sudden painful rip, it would have been the end of the Nikhil-Laajo saga.

On the other hand, you have Nikhil who is trying his hardest to remove Laajo from his life in the slowest, smoothest manner ever. And what happens? It's too painful. His conscious is too loud, her circumstances are too dire, the results of his actions too severe and cruel. So he decides to let it be.

Karma and kismet are indeed mysterious things.

Nikhil married Laajo to save her life and honour. He put his life, plans, dreams, goals and family on the back burner for her. He was quick to put her on. To take on her responsibility. Putting on a bandage when there was a cut and blood was oozing out. But now he is forced to spend time with her, open up to her, accept her as a part of his life. All because he didn't have the heart/guts to remove her. The bleeding has been stopped. He could have gotten rid of the bandage but he's too afraid to rip it off.

Laajo in turn entered his life as a burden. A stranger, a misfit, a responsibility. However, she has already started protecting him, shielding him, healing him. She is reaching out and calming the pain of a wound much deeper than the cut he thought he needed to stick the bandage on for. One that perhaps even Nikhil doesn't realise he has.

How they stick together and make it work - like Nikhil said, it's up to them to make it work - is going to be a treat to watch for sure!

I will add the village scenes because of Lajjo family who are showing extra unnecessary care for Nikhil is not going down well with me also.
For example Lakhi talks a bit too much...that really irked me being a child😒
They (villagers) all ask weird questions or say something without thinking...
saraswati knows in what circumstances the marriage is celebrated and the huge differences between the two families still she wants all of a sudden Nikhil family should accept Lajjo.
It would have been more acceptable if ever Lajjo would not have lied...
I like Lajjo is no more using 1 KG of vermilion hope her saris also change in a few days with the help of Gunjaa.

Me too, I enjoy watching the village episodes too more than the city one's thus far. At least there is more interactions between Lakhil in all of these episodes plus Lajjo is more herself here.😊

BTW, Couch Potato, I liked your bandage analogy!👍🏼

I liked the village scenes, I realised the CV's used the rituals and so many people at the village, Laajo's mayka, crowding them was a way of not allowing Nikhil to say that he wants to break the relation. It's a guilt trip sure but at the same time I want to see how they make out Lakhil so don't mind if Nikhil was guilted into not ditching her. As his aunt said at the village the initial decision to marry was the wrong one, that has caused this all kerffufle, now the mistake is made and its led to some interesting viewing for us, so let it continue 😆.
I felt bad for Ishana she is trusting Nikhil to set Laajo away from him but his decided he wants to keep hold of his responsibility to his wife, so now she again will have a boyfriend that is married already. As now we know what happened with Burka and Nikhil I feel as Ishana was bossy but also showing him love he replaced Ishana in his life as the only one to show him love.

I also felt Burka doesn't know her son well enough he doesn't take decisions to hurt others especially elders when his dad and uncle were planning to go with Nikhil to the village she shouldn't have stopped them and giving all the responsibility to Nikhil as he got into the mess of the marriage (as she sees it) she should have recognised his a kid and won't know how to go about breaking relations, if his two elders joined them there, when they came with the thali and wanting to start the rituals of the son-in-law, they would have intervened and said to them, Laajo's mayka, that we have come on a more serious issue please can we go inside and discuss the issue, they go inside tell them that this rushed marriage is not suitable for our son his still a kid and he still has to finish his education, and he will soon be travelling abroad for the same, Laajo can't stay with us either because our son has already promised himself to another girl and it's a serious relationship that both families are aware of it also and very soon we will have an engagement with them before he travels, however we understand the difficult situation with Laajo and everyone knowing she's been with us all these many days and left here a married woman we are willing to compensate you with whatever monies required here is a blank cheque if they start a fuss and refuse they could have said fine, we will take her and leave her with Nikhil's grandfather we will pay for her education and meanwhile start looking for a bridegroom and we will pay for the wedding and give a dowry. End of the matter. But it's a show so that's why we have elders not thinking properly and acting on behalf of the kids. What Nikhil said to Laajo also led me to believe they will be no change to that, he and her will be the ones making the decisions with their relation and no-one else will have a say so from now onwards.

Still it's good, I'm looking forward to reactions from Barka, NN, Ayesha and Ishana to what has happened. 😛

Hi Anju, I felt what happened at the village was only for Nikhil not to talk, so the CV's did that on purpose that was the only way they could carry on Lakhil storyline if he doesn't break the relationship, and the only way was to have a guilt trip for Nikhil. I also felt Saraswati was naturally nervous knowing the circumstances of the marriage and Nikhil's family were not consulted she wanted her mind set to rest that they have accepted her daughter, so any mother within those circumstances would ask those questions, and Laajo lying was because she didn't want to disappoint the mother, because married her and took her there, he should have known being as he was in a relationship with Ishana and that his family are snobs despite them have relations in that same village, the would not accept Laajo, so perhaps something in Laajo also wanted this all information to come from Nikhil he should be the one to tell her family, Laajo did try when they arrived he wants to talk with you before they did the pooja thali veneration on him, but he was too chicken to say himself. After giving him the whole day and the next, she decided I will have to tell them, and his stopping her also and promising her he will take care of her when they go back and no-one will hurt her at his family's home.

1 KG vermillion and her clothes will be changed I think when she goes to school, she will drop it herself, you know Gunja seems to be asking questions of Laajo like interested in why she wears the bangles, so it seemed to me like Gunja is being taught by Laajo 😆 rather then the other way round. But we will see I think she will stop putting so much vermillion and wearing the over the top sarees when she starts college.

@bold: I am simply hating Nikhil for the way he is reacting. the guy needs to show some mettle and stand for the stance he has taken. He needs to think for himself while taking a decision so that he does not regret later or back out when an olive branch is held out to him. in this case it seems there is a very fine line between altruism and stupidity.

But on another note I simply love your analyses and analogies.
