Why should I believe Karan. Probably saying this to sell his movie. Punit was looking down when Karan said this: either he was embarrassed because it's a lie, or because it's too personal..and Karan wanted to milk it for promotional reasons. Later Punit looked up and agreed though. It might be true..only Punit would know. lol
