Happy Valentines Day to all my lovely friends at India-Forums!!
Every Feburary all over the world flowers, chocolates, cards and gifts are exchanged between loved ones all in the name of St. Valentine.
But have we ever wondered why 14th Feb is celebrated as lovers day?? Why on this very day out of 365 days that we want to make someone extra special?? Well for those of you who just follows the tradition blindly let me just explain you the reason why on this beautiful date every lover wants to shower their friends, partners, parents, siblings with love.
Legend says that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome.
When Emperor Claudius II outlawed marriage of single men Valentine defied Claudius and continued to marry young lovers. When he was found out Valentine was thrown into prison. There he met a beautiful daughter of jailor and had fallen in love with her and before his death he wrote a letter, which he signed "From your Valentine" an expression that is still in use today. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.
Well by now I am sure that we all know why is this day so sacred for lovers..
But now I wonder what is love?? Can Love be defined.. Some says
Love needs no words..coz feelings cant be expressed while others says
Love is friendship. If two people are not best of friends they cannot love each other.
Albert Einsten has to say "How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love?"
For me Love is Life coz if you have not loved in your life you cannot survive.
Well friends lets see how u define love. But the twist is you have to define the word Love in only one word and tell us the reason why you feel that way.
