Today we will discuss the Case of Curious Open Mouth

Asthma has a strange affliction. It strikes at odd times and at totally unexpected and inopportune moments. It's called the Open Mouth Syndrome (OMS).

OMS happens when she is angry, upset, surprised or simply blank. One can never tell when she'd suffer the next bout of OMS. Sometimes the symptoms include OMS with incessant jibber jabber where words tumble out of her mouth to form quick incoherent sentences with unreasonable demands. Sometimes the symptoms include free passage of air in and out of her open mouth as she uncontrollably opens them and closes them in reaction to extreme stress. The onset is accompanied by pursing of lips and opening mouth to let in some air and then pursing lips and opening mouth to let in air and the process is repeated till the director shouts an exasperated "Cut".

OMS has no known cure. Most treatments include symptom management and avoidance of stressful confusing situations that can trigger an episode. The Acting Institute in Pune has set up a comprehensive holistic acting program that can help people like Asthma who suffer from involuntary OMS. The institute teaches sufferers of OMS in emoting histrionics of stress, confusion, bubbly chirpy damsel in distress without the constant opening and closing of mouth. The previous alumni of the institute, one KKG of Season 1 successfully learned to manage OMS by eliminating the constant huff huff huff open/close symptoms and learned to manage her emoting with a simple "O"

At shoot today, Asthmas' symptoms got so bad that Shlok had to intervene and gag her mouth with his bare hands. Let's pray for Asthma's quick recovery.

Here is the classic onset of OMS and Shlok's reaction

I freaking love your post.
Yup, she needs to start closing her mouth. I am so glad that Shlok helped her by closing it for her.
I wonder how many flies go into her mouth each day..

nice post. i like it.
her OMS is really annoying. keeping the mouth open is not the way to show emotion. hope she rectifies herself in coming episodes.

Ahahaha😆
but seriously the actress who plays Aastha is real good when she's doing an emotional scene related to sadness/frustration, but other than that she need to match up to other actors, get naturalized and find her niche.

I kinda agree that she opens her mouth a lot, but in today episode I found it cute! LOL
Otherwise, Shrenu's really good as Astha, she's gr8 at emotional & romantic scenes, she has expressive eyes, I also like her voice. 😊

😆

SJ. I liked your explaination of Shlok's reason for closing her mouth. So maybe this would be the end of OM syndrom after this scene.

Ha ha ha
The pics seem to suggest she is having the big "O", and him closing her mouth to prevent the others from hearing.😆
