Chapter 6
She stepped back with her breath ragging, as he stepped forward towards her. The cold breeze hitting her senses, sending a shiver through her body in anticipation. She struggled to keep her compose, checking her emotions and forcing them to step back. With a chuckle, as a predator trapped his prey, his molten eyes twinkling at her in amusement. It was hard to hide the affect he had on her. And she was tired. Tired of reminding herself not to dream about having sun in her fist. Her back hit the wall behind her, and she heard him chuckle now soundly, announcing his victory, as his hands trapped her with either sides of her.
Closing her eyes, she fisted the sides of her dress, as her lips shivered. She could feel him inching the distance between them. She could feel his hot breath on her parted lips. She could feel his front locks playing with her feathers in a careless manner. She could feel his eyes arresting her emotions. He was all she could feel. And he was all she wanted in her life. She needed in her life.
Then she felt, a slight brush of his lips on hers. A light feather touch that sent fire in her body, as desire rushed in her blood, making her skin pink with visible blush. Slowly, gently, he claimed her mouth with a promise that he would be with her. It was filled with love. It was filled with much more than love. A promise of eternity. His mouth moved over hers velvety and she shuddered with the sudden sensation. She heard him groan when his tongue met hers, as they danced to their rhythm. She felt pure pleasure fill within her. His hand came around her waist, pulling her to him, and he tasted her hungrily with gentleness replacing with wildness...
She jolted from her sleep, her eyes taking in her surroundings. Rubbing her face, she tried to balance her breath. The dream was not new yet it was new in every sense. He had been in her dreams, in her thoughts and in her life from past six months but this was the first time she crossed her limits in it. Till few days ago, she had no idea she would ever saw him but now, he was staying with her family, in her room. She closed her eyes, smiling at the thought of him.
"Good morning, Khushi!"
Letting an irritated sigh, she looked at her sister at the door with her arms crossed across her chest. "You are the most annoying pussy cat, Bindu." She muttered under her breath and threw the duvet away, and climbed off the bed. "7:50!" Khushi shouted as her eyes widened that she overslept, "why didn't anyone wake me up?" She shouted, glaring at Bindu and dashed out of the room to find her father having his morning coffee. "Mr. Arvind Yalavarti," she addressed her father with her hands on her hips, standing in front of him, "it is eight and none of you bothered to wake me. Papa, how can the whole family be so irresponsible?"
Arvind stared at Khushi before asking her to sit beside him by patting the seat. "That's because you never overslept and if you did, we knew you haven't had a good night's sleep," he offered his explanation seriously, alerting Khushi. Before she could escape by uttering reasons of being somewhere else, Arvind threw a warning glare at her. "Not today, Khushi," he warned verbally, "I would like to have this conversation done with you."
Khushi pleaded her mother and sister to help her but they sat on the couch, opposite to them. The whole family centered her and she knew she had to stay and talk to them.
"Who is Arnav?"
The question was direct from her father that Khushi had no chance to escape now. She lowered her head, biting her lip as she searched for suitable words to explain.
"It was you who had been against this entire PG thing," her father continued, "not to let a stranger live with us. Now, it was you who said you would stay back last night, just to speak to Arnav. So my question is," her father looked straight in her eyes as he asked again, "who is Arnav? And why do you want to speak with him? Why did you convince me to let you stay alone with him?"
Khushi shut her eyes and confessed the truth. "He is the one, Papa." She looked at her father with hopeful eyes, "about whom I said I saw in Goa six months ago. That I am in love with him, if love at first sight does exist."
"But Khushi," she heard Bindu asking her, "you said his name is Suriya, right. But this guy is Arnav Raizada."
Khushi smiled, remembering the way he introduced himself. "It's Arnav Suriyaprakash Raizada, Di," she whispered and faced her father, holding his hands, "all I want is some time to understand how I really felt for Arnav, Papa. Let me spend some time with him. Please."
"Khushi," Arvind cupped her face, "I don't know what to say in this. I want you to be happy but, hiding things from Arnav and spending time with him... it is not a good idea, Khushi."
"I know Papa," Khushi whispered as a lone tear escaped her eye, "I know."
