New Dehali - A demand to stop the serial Jodha-Akbar being telecast on private Hindi TV channel Zee TV' was raised by BJP M.P. Najma Heptulla in Rajya Sabha on 5th September. She criticised that historical events are being wrongly depicted under the pretext of freedom of expression. She said, Akbar was a secular and generous emperor; however, he is depicted as a tyrant. On this occasion, Smt. Heptulla was supported by many members of Rajya Sabha.
1. Ms. Heptulla said, "The TV serial depicts that Akbar kidnapped Jodha from the Amer fort and married her after bringing her to his palace."😡😡😡
2. She also expressed that a ban should be imposed on wrong depiction of historical events; otherwise, it will adversely affect the students. 3. Shri. Shivanand Tiwari, M.P. of Janata Dal (United) also opposed to telecast of the said TV serial. He said, Akbar is being viewed with respect even today.
