Hina Khan, better known as Akshara of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, was in the city recently as a special guest at a Janmashtami event.
She told us, "I love this city. Rather, I should say I love all of Madhya Pradesh. Bhopalites are very warm and the response I get over here is outstanding. I have been here twice before and I enjoy interacting with the city's crowd. Yeh jagah itni pyaari aur khoobsurat hai, yahan aana achha lagta hai."
Talking about acting in the same TV show for almost five years, Hina said, "I am enjoying the show and there is still a lot to happen in Yeh Rishta... It's not like other daily soaps that become monotonous after a point of time. I had got a couple of offers for appearances in films, but I didn't want to be a part of any film just for the sake of it. I would prefer concentrating on the show that gave me so much fame. Moreover, television gives you a better sense of security than films. Then why should I think of doing something else?"
The actress is concerned about the safety of working girls.She said, "The Mumbai rape incident was shocking. I too am a working girl living in a big city. This could have happened to any of us. I have to work till late. Am I supposed to stop going out, because it seems that no girl is safe in any part of the country?
