Where you can sort of forgive Kumud seeing as she is kind of helpless in her situation being stuck in marriage, Saras has freedom and it feels like an insult to whatever it was he had with kumud were he to go forth and marry kusum not to mention show any slightest affection that is not brotherly towards her, bearing in mind that she is the sister of the girl he once loved?!
Also they don't look great together.
The story would make no sense if there is any love as it would negate from everything that has come to define the relationship of saras n kumud. The tragic path of solitary reflection is befitting for a man like saraswatichandra not another game in vanity and shallow materialistic love that would occur if he fell in love or married with kusum out of convienience. I find saras (or the actor gautum rather ) expressions to kusum absurdly out of place considering his present dilemma where his love of his life is not his, and in conflict with the fact that kumud saras had such a strong relationship? So what, this immediately dies out because she is married, and he is obeying the social rules, where is his angst, his frustration?
Now granted Slb is following the original yet might I point out the liberties he has taken to adjust things, so why is it necessary to follow that particular aspect, why not tweak the story even further to bring it to a more relatable level, where in reality a good sister would not wish to enter into complications that involve her sis former lover, much less be existing in her shadow- this is where I find kusum role to be ludicrous, she has no identity by which she can define herself except via her didis?! Kusum is gorgeous looking but her role is a failure, I used to have high hopes for her esp to be with sunny and have their own little story but she is infuriatingly one dimensional.
