No , he hasn't been forgiven , those who pretend to forgive him r actually behaving revengefully by constantly using his guilt and saying u BETTER do this for the family
[ Sumitra] or patronizingly like Anandi [ u always were GAIR ZIMMEDAR so learn ZIMMEDAARI]
This is NEVER real forgiveness .
He has paid ENOUGH for his mistakes and let us not forget that even he was a victim of child marraige .
But what the elders did was this ...they thought only the child bride is the victim and focussed on resurrecting her life but with him , they r doing exact same mistake ...forcing him in a marraige decided by them saying u troubled the child bride so forgo ur ideas of happiness and pay for life .
ur life better be a mat for the child bride to wipe her shoes now .
Sad but true .
This attitude of being unforgiving and exacting is hailed righteously by many saying he has done wrong in the past so he must suffer .
The only person who has REALLY forgiven him is Bhairon . He took a long time to forgive but when he did he knew the meaning of that word .
The only person from the present who accepts him exactly as he is , is Ganga . She makes no demands of him and does not judge his past ...only comforts him and if possible shows him a way to unburden .
His late hours , heavy work will never be frowned upon by her like Saanchi , but she will wait for him cheerfully at the end of the day and only comfort his tired mind .
Jagdish is attracted to THIS comfort zone . He goes again and again to her to derive this unjudgemental comfort , a place where he is not judged but offered relaxation . His help is accepted gratefully and not rejected as the help of a sinner . Mannu's innocence relaxes him and Ganga's simplicity is refreshing to him .
