Yesterday only I was just going through news channels and got a big shock by hearing the news. Even I did not believe it first so I went to social networking to confirm it.
We all remember about the henious Delhi gangrape case which triggered anger in our minds and also a nationwide protests. Slogans, morchas were held, people sitting outside braving the cold just to want justice for that girl. People wanted stronger ans stricter punishment for that nasty creatures who not only gangrape her, but were also responsible for her death.

But after seeing the news yesterday, I was immensely shocked after the punishment the minor got.The minor who was the 'most brutal' got only 3 years of imprisonment. The minor was responsible damage of her internal organs which he tried to took out with a rod was just given only 3 years imprisonment. What a shame !!!

They say that, no one is small or big in front of law, but what was done yesterday deemed that saying.Just 3 years of imprisonment for such a shameful act.

The father of the deceased girl said, "Our daughter has died and now after listening to this verdict we have virtually died. This will only encourage crime. I was hoping that the juvenile accused will given life imprisonment, but he was given only three years (in special home). The court by giving lighter punishment of three years has actually encouraged the other juveniles to commit crimes. The law must change."

Which brings us to the main question, JUSTICE DONE??
In my opinion it is not.
Even he is a juvenile[minor] the judge should have given him a stricter punishment. A punishment which not only will bring fear into those shameful people but will give them goosebumps if they think about doing crime..

At last the saying from the film Aandha Kanoon is true

"Yeh Aandha Kanoon hain"
(Law is totally blind)

Why raise this question now? When the courts ruled that the "Juvenile" rapist should be treated as "underage" on the basis of his school certificate instead of going for a biological test to ascertain his age - that was the time to protest. Under the Juvenile Justice Act he was given the maximum punishment.

Because one criminal got away we cannot change the entire law. That law is in place to protect and rehabilitate underage criminals who perhaps went the wrong way due to social circumstances, poverty etc. That law is good and fine in its own place.

As it is today's laws are being taken for a ride by some people for property or revenge or family enmity. There are reports filed by police of a 40 yr old woman accusing a 4 yr old boy of raping her and the boy has to go to the police station and courts almost every day and nobody finds it funny.

Let's not confuse two issues. Whether the courts should go for school certificates or ID cards for determining age or whether they should as a routine process order that the culprit age be determined by scientific tests - that is the debate we should be initiating.

Yes justice is not done - but how best to serve justice is also a moot question. Mere knee-jerk reactions are not going to help anyone. Our response to this case has to be proactive and not reactive.

Yes I was disappointed, the guy's not only a rapist but also a sadist and a sick human being. He saved himself with the underage claim but in my opinion he should've been punished severely or at least should be sent to a mental institute because he's clearly sick in the head. I don't think 3 years are enough to teach him a lesson or make an impact on all the perverts out there. I hope his identity gets revealed.

The number of juvenile rapists and criminals is steadily rising. The laws need to keep pace with this reality. Laws regarding juveniles in many other countries treat heinous crimes like rape and murder more seriously than India. We keep making excuses for the criminals be it the law breakers or law makers. The politicians (all parties) are uniting to repel the SC directive about restrictions for criminals to fight elections and continue as MLA or MP. When we have criminals as our law makers what to expect from them 🤢
