This reminds me of the saying "sau choohe kha ke billi chali hajj ko"

The current state of religion is pathetic. People commit heinous crimes, behave unethically and think that a confession will absolve them of sins. This isn't with Catholics only, but all religions. People hold rituals, go on pilgrimage thinking that these superficial acts absolve sins.

The intent of confessions or pilgrimage is not to blindly absolve people of sins. One of the key requirements is genuine repentance. A person who confesses is supposed to truly feel remorse for their misdeeds and seek guidance from the priest to become a better person.

Suhana, I have just one question. And that is because I take what you say seriously. As you believe things are not so easy, after committing a crime. More than someone else forgiving you, will you be able to forgive yourself when you kill someone? That is impossible. Every human being is capable of love and destroying someone capable of love is not easy to endure as one thinks. It will be a life time regret after the murder. Will you be able to take care of yourself after you murder someone? If I really kill someone, I believe that person's eyes will follow me endlessly as the soul of anyone can never be destroyed and my conscience will never forgive me. This is an area, the priest can do nothing.
