Filming fall/winter 2006 with a summer 2007 release, Hairspray is a remake of the 1988 film, about teenager Tracy Turnblad who achieves her dream of becoming a regular on the Corny Collins Dance Show. Now a teen hero, she starts using her fame to speak out for the causes she believes in, most of all integration. Zac will play her "love interest".

In order to get Johnny Hitswell's attention, Riley replaces the old pool lifeguard with Davey Hunkerhoff, a hunky 14-year-old lifeguard she flirts with to make Johnny jealous. Her plan backfires when Davey actually likes her back, and, discovering her plan, his feelings are so hurt he closes the pool.

Zac was cast as the role of Cody, a teenager who moves to Los Angeles, California with his mother and would have been a regular on the show, however it was not picked up for a fall 2006 season and will probably not air.

Zac plays a pizza delivery guy who gets kidnapped and forced to rob a bank.
