From modelling to films to TV to films, Ayaz Khan has done it all. Ayaz will now be seen in Sony's Kulvaddhu and Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. Having been a part of the advertising world for a long time, Ayaz has moved to acting after a long time. "That's because I was studying. After completing my graduation, I was studying management and law. That gave me time for modelling but nothing else. But I am not complaining," he says.
While he'll be playing one of the many family members in Kulvaddhu, he has been cast opposite Sandhya Mridul in Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. Ayaz who has played a small part in the movie Bluffmaster, says he is still recognised as the guy who Priyanka Chopra's dating in the movie. "Though it was a small role, people still remember me from the film. That's how big films are. They stay in people's mind for longer time," he says. Ayaz says he is excited about his other film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na that's being made by Aamir Khan.
Dabbling in films and TV can to be quite a balancing act, says Ayaz. "I have shot for 48 hours continuously, when I would come home only to take a shower," he says. Speaking about doing television as well as films, Ayaz says, "Television has become so big today. An actor's job is to entertain people and that's what I believe in doing."
The actor was supposed to make his big screen debut in a movie titled Phir Zindagi that also featured Milind Soman and Gul Panag. "But that movie was never released. But I am happy with my role in Honeymoon.... I may not be the lead actor, but my role is important," he says. But isn't it beneficial to debut in a solo hero film? "Why would any producer launch me as a solo hero, when they can have a big hero to do so?" he says. "But getting a break in TV has become as difficult as getting a break in films. Especially if you want to do quality work," say the actor.
Speaking about his personal life Ayaz says, "I am very much single. I have no one to romance this Valentine's Day."
