Chetan's bhagam bhag to airport
Chetan Hansraj
Chetan Hansraj is a fitness freak, but he never realised his passion for working out would be put to such a test.

Recently, the actor had to jump out of a rickshaw and make a two-kilometre dash to reach the airport in time for his flight to Baroda.

Is it a shoot?

These days, the actor has been shuttling between Mumbai and Baroda, where he is shooting for Prithviraj Chauhan.

Says Chetan, "I had to catch a 10.20 am Jet Airways flight to Baroda, and I woke up only at 9.15! Since I didn't have any luggage as I was returning to Mumbai in the evening, I just jumped into a rickshaw for the airport. Halfway through, we got stuck in a major traffic jam.

The BMC has dug up the road adjacent to the airport and there was a major choke-up of traffic. If I remained in the rickshaw, I would have definitely missed my flight."

That's when Chetan decided to ditch the vehicle and started jogging towards the terminal. "I had no other option but to start running. I was wearing a suit and had to run for two kilometres before I even came close to the airport. It was funny because everyone was staring at me wondering if it was part of some shoot!"

Period drama

The actor never realised how physically demanding the jog turned out to be. "I thought I was going to collapse any minute. Running in the hot sun isn't exactly refreshing!" says Chetan.

On reaching the terminal, Chetan was quickly rushed through the security check. "Thankfully, the airline staff got me on the flight in the nick of time, otherwise I would have definitely missed my shoot. It's irritating how much inconvenience the BMC causes by constantly digging up roads. Now that the elections are over, they will just leave it open and walk away."

On another note, Chetan is all praise for the Sagars who have erected a massive studio in Baroda. "It's like a mini city and everything is very detailed. They pay attention to the smallest of props and costumes. It's very similar to working in a period film."

Apart from work, Chetan's one-year-old son Ethen is taking up all his time. "He's growing up very quickly. We celebrated his birthday on February 2. He's started walking around too!"

cheers
