Hmmm....Gul Khan...Something to ponder over....

Practically thinking, I think I liked IPKKND because I never watched Geet.

Though we criticise Ekta Kapoor for her stereotypic serials,Gul is no less. She has her own success formula too.

I have read on IF that the kind of chemistry Drashti and Gurmeet had could not be seen in Sanaya and Barun and subsequently in Surbhi and Karan. This could be right or wrong. I am not starting any argument here. But for myself I beleive what probably does grow typical on me is Gul's style.

After starting on QH (in late March this year) I watched some romance of Geet on youtube but I did not find it as appealing as original Geet fans. The reason might be that I don't know the story at all and did not care for it. Or may be because I had seen this type of romance on ArShi first who I had liked.

So basically I came to the conclusion that I can love Gul's formula passionately only once. I love QH for its story line and good actors but I amnot really thrilled with romance between the leads. The romance is typical Gul.


And I am like ok... Bubbly, self reliant but self sacrifising, wounded but happiness spreading, loving, compassionate heroine, Wounded and therefore angry-akdu type hero who is intense and passionate but has hidden his heart of gold from the world, their "Oh so natural" bumping in each other, fall and catch+eye locks, closed eyes+heaving chests and man picking up woman, delayed confession and sex, their bickering turned "passion" absolutely illogical hurdles in their ways, and male chauvinistic female fans of the male leads (who just refuse to believe that that their hero can go wrong!) on IF...


This is all Gul has... so I am kinda bored with Gul's monotony. Give me something really new Gul.


Guys this is a personal opinion an analysis of my experience with Geet, IPKKND and QH. I do not mean to hurt anybody.

i don't agree completely with you, only to a certain point. The common thing in her three shows is that the main hero is given the agry look and the main heroine is bubbly, and happy and thats about it... the layers within the characters are sooo different ...

I personally feel Gul has done something different with handling her story in QH..because despite Geet's and IPK's high fan following..I liked neither and I personally found their chemistry forced...

every love story is unique,i love gul khan s story telling and romance

i totally disagree..gul is much better than ekta ..

I couldn't agree more with you. I never watched Geet, just IPK that too not from the beginning.

Some points to make...

I am no way compairing Ekta and Gul. I am just saying Gul too has her own style. Which is growing monotonous on me.

I am not saying there is no variety in the serials. They are different as stories. but the style of romance is the same.

This comparison happens only when we know its same PH show. I have watched Geet (not til end just initial good phase), then I watched IPK(again not all, but most of it) , I did not know that its same PH and believe me I did not find any connection or similarity.. I did not like those after initial few episodes..Story went down the hill..Then I started watching QH, I watched it from 1st episode but still I did not know it was same Gul Khan who produced other two shows, I was unaware of these discussion forums and everything.. Again I did not find any connection until I came to know about IF and joined in feb 2013.. After joining this forum , I came to know all three shows are of same production.. Ppl here started comparing and all, but I did not see any similarity.. And I got totally addicted to QH but was never got adicted to Geet and IPK, I could not connect to its story.. And this happened when I was unaware of all this IPK shut down drama, same PH and all..
