Is Sushant Singh Rajput the new blue-eyed boy of Bollywood?

Sushant Singh Rajput to do a film with Ashutosh Gowariker?

The Kai Po Che! lad has been bagging big films one after the other ever since he entered tinseltown

Though Sushant Singh Rajput has had only one movie release " Kai Po Che! " the actor has managed to impress the Bollywood biggies. Right from Yash Raj Films to Rajkumar Hirani, the boy has managed to get a lot of attention.

Our khabroo tells us the Shuddh Desi Romance actor has now been offered Ashutosh Gowariker's next project. The Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey director's next film is apparently a period drama set against the backdrop of the early Mohenjo-daro colonies in the Indian subcontinent. According to earlier reports, Hrithik Roshan was to be part of this film. But now Sushant is in it. Also, Gowariker is quite keen to work with Priyanka Chopra again, since she has been the director's fave since What's Your Rashee?.

So with this development, Sushant has his plate full for the next year or so. The actor will be seen in Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, P.K. and a film opposite Katrina Kaif which is reportedly based on Charles Dickens book Great Expectations.

Hrithik was the 1s choice ... and its a intense love story

Why is Ashutosh Gowariker upset with Hrithik Roshan?

The Jodhaa Akbar director is disappointed about losing out on the opportunity to cast the Krrish actor for his period film

Ashutosh Gowariker, who recently announced his mega ambitious love story set against the backdrop of the ancient cities of Mohenjo-daro and Harappa, was very keen to cast Hrithik Roshan in the film. But little did he know that the honey-eyed actor has his diary full with other film commitments.

Hrithik has been keeping super busy with his home production Krrish 3 which is now in its final stages. Post that, he has allotted his dates to Siddharth Anand for the official remake of Hollywood flick Knight and Day with Katrina Kaif titled Bang Bang, the shooting of which is scheduled to start early next year in Kashmir.

Now, if our feathered friend is to be believed, Gowariker is sort of feeling let down with Hrithik for not being available for his period drama, considering the actor was his first choice. Buzz doing the rounds is that the National award winning filmmaker is considering other actors to step into Roshan's role because the actor will be shooting extensively in five countries for Anand's action-thriller and won't be able to accommodate Gowariker's film. We are sure Hrithik is equally upset for not making it to Gowariker's epic drama.

So now who could be Ashutosh's second choice? Which actor do you think could fit into Hrithik's shoes? Abhishek Bachchan? Or younger heroes like Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh? Watch this space to find out!

Ashutosh Gowariker's next based on Indus Valley civilisation

The director's historical will focus on the ancient Indian cities of Mohenjo-daro and Harappa

Never mind the failure of Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey (KHJJS) and the amount of flak he received for the film, it seems Ashutosh Gowariker won't let go off his fetish for period cinema. The maverick filmmaker's obsession with period films started with Lagaan, followed by the semi-fictional Jodhaa Akbar, and continued with KHJJS, which was a story based on true events. And now, we hear that the ambitious director has already decided to go further back in time with his next film based on the Indus Valley Civilisation.

According to popular historians, the roots for the populace of India came from the ancient civilisations of Mohenjo-daro and Harappa, and Gowariker says that the subject holds a lot of relevance today. "Yes, it will again be a period film, a love story made on a larger canvas," the filmmaker revealed in an interview recently, adding, "We can take a lot from that civilisation, as I feel we are racing towards a similar situation. The only problem is that no one is aware of this. So, I want to convey a story about the civilisation, particularly Mohenjo-daro. The idea is to narrate it in the form of a love story."

Like all his films, this time too, Ashutosh wants to leave no unturned for his next big budget ensemble, and he's currently working on the research, and is being assisted by a team of senior archaeologists. Good luck, Ashutosh!
